Edith Pauline Maxson, 96, a lifetime area resident, died at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2005 in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Center, Plymouth.
Born in Culver on February 17. 1909, Edith was the daughter of Oral B. and Daisy I. Fear Hayes.
Edith attended Culver High School and later graduated from Tobias Beauty College in South Bend. She worked at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant and John Meck Industries during World War II. After graduating from Beauty College, she owned and operated a Beauty Shop in La Paz for many years.
On December 19, 1959, Edith married Aaron Maxson in Plymouth. Aaron died on April 25, 1992.
An avid reader, Edith also liked to crochet and enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She had been a member of the Beautician?s Association of Marshall County.
Edith is survived bt three Daughters: Mary Jane and Gerald Clark of Indiana, Darlene J. Chaney of Des Moine, Iowa, and Betty P. Freese of Plymouth, IN., a son: Devere W. and Kiyoko Muffley of Ocala, FL. Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great - great grandchildren along with a brother, Raymond O. Haynes of Leesburg, FL., also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, hers husband, a grandson, three sisters and two brothers.
Friends may visit with Edith?s family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2005 at the New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel, Plymouth, IN.
Funeral services will be held in the New Oakhill Chapel immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2005.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, IN.
Memorial contributions in Edith?s name may be given to the Arthritis Foundation.
