Florence I. Thomas, 91, died of natural causes at 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in Miller?s Merry Manor, Plymouth, where she had been a resident since February, 2003.
      
       Born in her family?s Plymouth home, the current location of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, on August 18, 1913, Florence was the daughter of A. Ray and Elma Thompson Welborn.
      
       She was a 1931 graduate of Lincoln High School.
      
       On May 28, 1937, in Plymouth, Florence and Charles C. Thomas were married. Charles died July 18,1983.
      
       Florence was a bookkeeper for 20 years with the office staff of Bosworth?s Department store. She retired in 1974.
      
       Active in her church, the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, Florence enjoyed seeing her sons sing during services. She dearly loved her family and being with them and her grandchildren. In years past she liked to travel and spent several winters in Texas and Florida.
      
       Florence was a member of the church Ladies Aid Society, the quilting group of her church and of the Happy Homemakers Club of LaPaz. She was also a charter member of the Loyal Builders Sunday school class of the church.
      
       Two sons survive, they are Robert D. and Sandy Thomas, Columbia City, Ind., and David R. and Alice Thomas, Plymouth.
      
       Seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.
      
       The grandchildren are: Micah, Wendy and Joel Thomas, children of Robert and Sandy and David Thomas, Karen Lopez, Kimberly and Krista Thomas, children of David and Alice.
      
       Mary Burkett, a sister of Florence, living in the Catherine Kasper Home in Donaldson and Katherine Barkey, also a sister, at Winona Lake, together with numerous nieces and nephews, survive as well.
      
       Florence was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse.
      
       A celebration of her life will be shared with family and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, and for one-hour prior to services in the church.
      
       Funeral services for Florence will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2004, in the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, 1130 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. The Rev. David Kerkove, pastor of the church, will officiate.
      
       Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
      
       Memorial gifts in Florence?s memory may be made to Camp Mack, Milford, Ind., through the church.
