Ellen E. Heim

February 24, 1907 - April 8, 2004

      
       Ellen E. Heim, 97, 7189 King Road, died on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at 6:50 a.m. in Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth.
      
       Ellen was born in Chicago, Ill. on February 24, 1907, to John and Louisa Johnson Swanson; both parents were from Sweden. Her family moved from Chicago to a farm in Polk township when she was three years old.
      
       Ellen graduated from Tyner High School in 1925 and then earned her diploma from Manchester College.
      
       On March 15, 1935, Ellen and David W. Heim were united in marriage by the Rev. Frank Lineberry in Elkhart. She taught primary school in Tyner for seven years and was a devoted farm wife.
      
       Ellen was a long time member of the Helpful Hour Club. She was a precinct poll taker for the Republican party and a member of the Farm Bureau.
      
       Having begun her faith in the Swedish Mission Church in Donaldson, she continued as a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Plymouth.
      
       Ellen is survived by two sons, Stephen Heim, Plymouth and Don and Evelyn Heim, West Hills, Calif.
      
       Three granddaughters also survive. They are Deborah Heim-Waddill and Nathan Waddill, Plymouth; Kathlyn and Glenn O?Shea of Castaic, Calif. and Karen and Bryon Zambello of Mason, Ohio. Two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters survive as well. They are Sean and Kayla O?Shea of Castaic, Calif., and Lauren and Cameron Zambello of Mason, Ohio.
      
       Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
      
       Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, David, in 1999, and by a sister, Ethel Nelson.
      
       Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m.
      
       Services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Dean Fager, pastor of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.
      
       Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana
      
       Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Plymouth, Indiana.
