Raymond A McEndarfer

       Raymond A. ?Ray? McEndarfer, 83, a former resident of North Liberty and LaPaz, Ind., moving to Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1998, died following an illness, on Sunday, November 16, 2003, in Oklahoma City. He was living at 8133 N.W. 78th Terrace, Oklahoma City, Okla.
      
       Ray was born in North Liberty, Ind., on December 3, 1919. He was the son of Irvin and Bessie Shupert McEndarfer. He attended North Liberty schools.
      
       A veteran of World War I.I., Ray served in the United States Army and was a member of the LaPaz American Legion Post 385.
      
       On April 6, 1948, in Valparaiso, Ind., he and Sarah M. Hostetler were married. Sarah died on February 27, 1990.
      
       Ray was a farmer and was also employed by the Wheelabrator Corporation.
      
       He enjoyed fishing, was an avid gardener.
      
       Two daughters and a son survive Ray?s death. They are: Peggy Hepler, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Connie Baker, Davenport, Fla.; and Donald Smith, Dyer, Ind.
      
       Two grandsons and a granddaughter also survive. They are: Tim Baker, Deltona, Fla.; Kim Hepler, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Mike Hepler, Greeley, Colo.
      
       Four sisters survive as well: Alma Dennison, Bremen, Ind.; Ruby Little, South Bend; Flossie Ranstead, Rochester, Ind., and Mary High, South Bend. Two brothers survive also. They are: Charles McEndarfer, South Bend, and Glen McEndarfer, Hesperia, Calif.
      
       Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sarah, and by three brothers and two sisters.
      
       Friends may come to celebrate Ray?s life from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2003, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
      
       Funeral services following visitation on Thursday will be held in the funeral home. The Rev. Larry McEndarfer, nephew of Ray, will officiate.
      
       Entombment will be in the New Oakhill Mausoleum, Plymouth, Ind.
      
       Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ray?s memory.
