Patrick Jeffirs, 68, of South Bend and formerly of Plymouth, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at his residence.
      
       He was born November 4, 1949 in Plymouth, Indiana, to the late Ralph J. and Irene A. (Kennedy) Jeffirs.
      
       While living in Plymouth, Pat was involved in the Marshall-Starke Development Center. After moving to South Bend, he was a janitor at the LaSalle Hotel in South Bend.
      
       Pat enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, putting jigsaw puzzles together and going to the batting cage. When he lived in Plymouth he enjoyed attending St. Michael Catholic Church.
      
       Surviving are his three loving sisters; Helen and Tom Rudd of Mishawaka, Marilyn Metzinger of Lafayette, Rosemary Compton of Portage, Michigan, two sisters-in-law; Joanne Jeffirs of Plymouth and Christine Jeffirs of Elkhart. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
      
       He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Tom Jeffirs, Joe Jeffirs, two brothers-in-law; Joe Metzinger and Dick Compton.
      
       Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth.
      
       A memorial service for Pat will be at 2:00 pm on Friday in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Krieg officiating.
      
       Family burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
      
       In lieu of flowers the family has asked that any memorial contributions be made to the donor?s choice.
