Edward Michael Pontius, 37, passed away unexpectedly on June 20th, 2016 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus.
      
       Ed was born on February 7, 1979 in South Bend, Indiana to Kenneth Pontius and Kathy Dipert. He graduated from John Glenn High School with the class of 1997.
      
       He presently worked at Southwire and had formerly worked for Hoosier Tire.
      
       Ed loved music and guitar, a collection that you could see when you visited his home. He loved traveling and taking rides on his motorcycle, as well as working on other motorcycles. He enjoyed working out at the LifePlex in Plymouth and taking his faithful companion, Buddy, for walks.
      
       He is survived by his father and stepmother, Kenneth and Betty Pontius of Winchester, IN; mother and stepfather, Kathy and Doug Dipert of Walkerton, IN; his brother, Randy (Lezley) Pontius of Brook, IN; nephews, Carsten and Kylian Pontius and niece, Kendalyn Pontius; and maternal grandparents, Blaine (Carol) Rudrud of Westby, WI.
      
       Ed was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold (Blanch) Pontius,
      
       Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. with Rev. Paul Nye officiating.
