Obituary

Catherine L. Relos

March 18, 1930 - December 3, 2013

A gentle and peaceful spirit slipped through our arms on the morning of December 3rd, at her home in Plymouth. She was 83, and the mother of five children she bore in seven years. We were raised with love and compassion, which she generously shared with all. She lived her life for family, and we?re so grateful to have had her as our mother.

Catherine was born the fourth of eight children to Charles W. ?Roy? and Mildred E. (Good) King, in Starke County, Indiana. She met the love of her life through mutual friends, and on October 28, 1950 in Knox, she married William P. Relos, settling in Plymouth to raise their soon expanding family. How she kept up with us five rambunctious children with a husband who was an over-the-road truck driver, we?ll never know, but she did it with grace, strength, and determination, showering us with heartfelt love and understanding.

Catherine?s legacy carries on through her sons William (Diane), Kenneth (Valerie), and Donald (fianc? Tammi), of Plymouth, David (Jerry McGlocklin) of South Bend, daughter Cathy (James) Phend, of Plymouth, and daughter-in-law Mary Relos of Plymouth.

She is the grandmother of Jennifer DeMarco, Heather Rottmiller, Katie, Hannah, and Sarah Relos, Elizabeth VanHerk, Kristine Relos, Rebecca, Joshua and Suzanne Phend, and great-grandmother of Ashlee and Seth DeMarco, Tori and Emily Rottmiller, Andrew Relos, Ezekiel Relos Estrada, Kailani VanHerk, Lily McQuarters, and Annie Phend.

This beautiful woman was predeceased by her loving husband William, grandson Thomas Relos, brothers Earl, Floyd, and Willard King, and sisters Irma Sain and Etta Jane McIntire. She is survived by sisters Dolores Pesut of Mishawaka and Ruby Solmos of Naples, Florida, brothers-in-law James McIntire of Knox, Robert Relos of North Liberty, Michael Relos of Plymouth, and James Relos of Tampa, Florida.

The family will receive friends from 4 ? 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday, December 5th in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services for Catherine will be held at 11 a.m. EDT on Friday, December 6th in the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan Rd, Plymouth, with visitation resuming one hour prior to the service in the church. The Rev. Ed Friberg will officiate. Burial will be next to her husband and eternal love, at New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gift contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 112 S. Center St., Plymouth, IN 46563 or Cancer Association of Marshall County, 9739 Sunnyside Dr., Plymouth, IN 46563.
