Everett L. Bowell

July 28, 1918 - October 1, 2013

      Everett L. Bowell, 95, and a lifetime Argos resident, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
      
       Born in Argos in Walnut Township on July 28, 1918, Everett was the son of Floyd D. and Ida Bell (Dawson) Bowell. He attended Argos High School.
      
       In Argos in a Christian church, Everett married Opal B. Fear on February 19, 1938.
      
       On November 24, 1943 Everett joined the United States Army, serving in Infantry during World War II. He was Honorable Discharged on February 28, 1946.
      
       Everett worked for Gast Construction doing building construction in Warsaw for 25 years before retiring at the age of 60 in 1980.
      
       After retirement, he found interest in woodworking. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 68.
      
       Everett is survived by his loving wife, Opal, of Argos, nephew, Jack Miller of Mira Toma, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews living in the surrounding areas.
      
       He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Miller.
      
       Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.
      
       Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos.
