Lifelong resident Randall Bruce ?Randy? Murray, 59, passed away following an illness, at his home on Holloway Drive at 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
Born in Plymouth on March 1, 1954, Randy was the son of Robert Lavern and Ruth Lucille (Samuels) Murray.
He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1972 and attended Lincoln Tech that next year.
On September 26, 1992, in Hamlet, Indiana, Randy and Karma Lynn Bryan were married.
Randy enlisted in the United States Army in 1973 and served until his honorable discharge in 1975.
He was employed with NIPSCO as a mechanical equipment operator for 33 years, retiring on March 17, 2005.
A very talented person, Randy wrote and sang Gospel music. He recorded two songs which were picked up by two different California companies. Two of his compositions will be performed during his funeral service.
He enjoyed country music and played the drums and bass. He formed and played with the bands; Border Line and Special Blend.
An enthusiastic traveler, Randy had visited all of the United States with the exception of Alaska and Washington.
Randy is survived by his wife and four children. They are: Kim L. (Wayne) Bean, Plymouth, Jason R. (Jeannine) Murray, Franklin, IN., Kelly L. (Drew) Westafer, Bourbon and Amanda (Chad) Knox, Goshen, IN.
Ten grandchildren, including Hannah Lehiy, a granddaughter Randy and his wife raised, survive.
Two sisters, Janet (Don) Johnson, Houston, TX. and Brenda "Kay" (Dave) Bauer, Wichita, KA. and a brother, Robert Murray, Indianapolis, IN. survive as well along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18th from 4 ? 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19th at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Tom Padberg, chaplain with the Center for Hospice Care will officiate.
Military honors will be provided by members of the Plymouth American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign Wars ? Marshall County Post 1162 and the D.A.V.
Memorial contributions in Randy?s name may be made to the Marshall County Center for Hospice Care, 112 S. Center St., Plymouth, IN 46563.
