John H. Hull

September 20, 1927 - August 16, 2002

       Plymouth- John H. Hull, 74, of 715 Bayless St., was a Plymouth resident most of his life. John died, following an illness, at 11:40 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2002, in Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, Ind.
      
       Born the son of Homer and Edna E. Neff Hull on Sept. 20, 1927, in Hanna, Ind., John graduated from Hanna High School and continued his education studying agriculture for two years.
      
       He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
      
       He was first married to Bernetha Carlson on March 15, 1952; Bernetha died in 1982. On Aug. 4, 1990, in Plymouth, John and Essie M. Bradley were married.
      
       John was a tower watchman for the Pennsylvania Railroad (Amtrak) for many years. He retired in 1989.
      
       He enjoyed vegetable gardening and was very good in growing delicious produce, which was enjoyed by his family and friends.
      
       A devout Christian, for several years, John would hold church services at local nursing homes. He had a large collection of religious books and materials that he shared with others. He enjoyed playing the piano and organ and played for the Church of the Nazarene for a number of years.
      
       John is survived by his wife, Essie, Plymouth and by two sons: LaMar and Melody Hull and Stephen Hull, both of Danville, Ill. A step-daughter, Cathy and Greg Fornash, Plymouth, three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren also survive.
      
       He was preceded in death by his first wife and by two brothers, William and Phillip Hull and a sister, Rhonda Hull.
      
       Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
      
       Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, in the funeral home. The Rev. John Perkinson, pastor of the Shiloh Wesleyan Church where John attended services, will officiate.
      
       Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
      
       Memorial gifts in John?s memory may be made to the Shiloh Wesleyan Church, Plymouth.
