May V. Dixon, 97, formerly of 480 W. Washington St., died of natural causes on August 8, 2011, in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, 222 Parkview St., Plymouth, Ind.
May was born in Culver, Ind., on July 10, 1914, the daughter of Roy W. and Bessie L Smith Gross.
She attended West High School until the 8th grade.
On Dec. 18, 1939, in Plymouth, May and Lee R. Dixon were married. Lee died on Dec. 18, 1972.
A housewife, May lived most of her life in the Marshall County area.
She enjoyed the outdoors and collecting family pictures.
May is survived by a son Lewis E. Troyer, Delong Ind., and a brother, Donald E. Gross, Rochester, Ind.
Two grandchildren, Richard Troyer, Ala. and Cheryl Lynn Lowry, Delong, Ind. survives as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Roy L. Gross and Charles O. Gross and two sisters: Mary I. Helsel, Maxine L. Harman and 2 grandsons, Leslie Troyer and Brent Troyer
Friends are invited to call from 11 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services for May will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind.
