Pearl A. Stutzman, 82, 501 Pennsylvania Ave., Plymouth, an area resident since Aug. of 1946, coming from South Bend, died, following an illness, at 9:40 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2002, in Walnut Creek Care Center, Plymouth.
Pearl was born on Sept. 16, 1919, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Herman F. and Ida M. Eichorst Wendt. She attended Riley High School in South Bend.
On August 3, 1936, in South Bend, Pearl and Daniel A. Stutzman were married. Daniel died on April 28, 1998, after almost 62 years together.
A homemaker, Pearl was a person with many varied interests. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, bowling and fishing, particularly in Wisconsin. At one time she had a large collection of match books, a favorite collectible, from her travels. She had visited many states, including a trip to Branson, Missouri.
Pearl is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Rosemary Stutzman, Crawfordsville, Ind., and by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dan, a daughter, Connie A. Stutzman and a brother, Herman Wendt, Jr. and a sister Ruth Werntz.
Visitation with her family to celebrate her life will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home following visitation at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. David Moffett-Moore, pastor of the First United Church of Christ, of which Pearl was a member, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
