Linda G. Speirs, 47, lovingly called ?Cookie,? by her family and many friends, died, following a lupus related illness, at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2002, in St. Margaret?s Hospital, Hammond, Ind.
      
       Born on April 5, 1955, in Houston, Scotland, Cookie was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Gwen Monroe Speirs. The family came to the United States from Scotland in 1960 and lived in the Plymouth area most of her life.
      
       Cookie attended T.F. North School in Calumet City, Illinois.
      
       A homemaker, she enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and talking to her friends on the C.B. radio using her handle of ?Cookie.? An avid White-Sox fan, she enjoyed gardening and outside work.
      
       Cookie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Buffy Speirs and her three grandchildren, Levi, Cassidy and Tyler Speirs, all of Plymouth.
      
       Also surviving are her parents, Thomas and Gwen Speirs, Plymouth, a paternal grandmother, Christina Speirs, Scotland, and a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Bernie Speirs, Cessna Park, Ill.
      
       Michael Bobby, Cookie?s former husband and loving companion and Dorothy Bobby, her former mother-in-law and devoted friend, both of Plymouth, also survive, together with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
      
       Friends may call to share their memories with her family from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the New Oakhill Chapel at the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
      
       Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Charles Krieg, will follow visitation at 3 p.m., June 6, 2002, in New Oakhill Chapel. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery.
