Eventina ?Teddy? Roeloffina Kaser, 91, died of natural causes at 7:11 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Born in Amsterdam, Holland, on February 15, 1917, Teddy was the daughter of Johannes Cristoffel and Henrika Dederika Amtje Van Werver Duym.
She studied to be a doctor for a short time after she graduated from high school, but was captured by the German?s and forced to become a nurse instead.
Teddy came to the United States originally as a war bride.
She worked as a seamstress in a drapery workshop and was a custom home decorator for 25 years.
On February 13, 1971, she and Ross Logan Kaser were married in Encinitas, Calif. Ross died in November of 1994.
A member of the First United Church of Christ, Plymouth, Teddy was famous for her marshmallow cr?me fudge. She loved her dogs.
She loved to travel and went to Alaska and all over Europe. In her younger days she was an American Red Cross volunteer and helped in the veterans? hospital in California.
Teddy is survived by two step-daughters: Alanna and Bill Reynolds of Springfield, Illinois and Tina and Lou Morales of Plymouth, Indiana, a step-son, Stan and Mary Jo Kaser of Plymouth , Indiana and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Joop Duym.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Saturday, November 15, 2008, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Family funeral services will be held.
Burial will be in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, California.
Memorial gifts in Teddy?s memory may be made to the Marshall County Life Enrichment Center to assist veterans.
