Paul was the first friend I made when my family moved to the coast from Edmonton in 1972. We chummed around a lot during high school but sort of lost track of one another during our career lives. I am so grateful we were able to restart our friendship a few years back and enjoyed our times at the White Spot in Abbotsford when he came to visit as well as our Facebook discussions. I had considerable respect for his experience in life and his views were well informed and coherent. Jennifer, it was obvious you two had a great marriage; my special condolences to you. He always spoke so well of the life he had with you. You will all be in my prayers as he was. I will miss him!

As I reflect of the almost 5 decades that I have known Paul I find myself lingering on cherished memories of us growing through our teenage years, and entering BCIT together. Drifting apart, then bumping into each other again time and time over the years. Paul truly was a life-time friend. One of those people that it didn't matter if you had not spoke to each other in a while, when you did speak it was as though you had only seen each other yesterday. He was so proud of his children and he cherished his life with you Jennifer. You have my most heartfelt condolence. We are all richer for having had Paul as our friend and he will be dearly missed.

My condolences to Jennifer and family. I was fortunate to meet Paul in 2000 while we both worked in Kosovo and as two Canadians who were a long way from home, we shared beer and great conversations together. Paul & I remained in contact over the years as friends on facebook. I was very saddened to learn of Paul's passing - he was "one of the good ones" and will be missed. RIP my friend.

Dearest Jennifer my heart breaks for you and your family. Even though I personally did not know Paul I always felt he was a wonderful man and loved you more than life itself. Your dear farm animals will give you much company and solace in the days and months to come.

So sorry to hear Paul has died. Time moves so fast and it seems just a heartbeat ago that we were both young and flying down the road in my old beetle listening to Elton John. I knew Paul as a kind and gentle soul with a bright mind always looking forward to the next challenge. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. Matt Foy and Family.

The world is a lesser place without Paul in it. It was my privilege to have known Paul. Working together as instructors at the Correctional Staff College in Mission, BC, gave me the opportunity to get to know Paul’s intelligence, humour and professionalism. We took many spirited motorcycle rides together and Paul shared many recollections of his experiences when racing with the Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club. While he was working in Ottawa, he bought my ZX-11 and I shipped the bike from Chilliwack, BC, to him in Ontario. I’m thankful that I was able to extend my Route 66 motorcycle trip to visit Paul and Jennifer in Plymouth shortly after he had permanently moved there and just before he shared that he had been diagnosed with cancer. The blast through Plymouth in the Cobra with straight pipe side exhausts was unforgettable.
The story of Paul and Jennifer meeting and building their life together is a wonderful adventure and I’m honoured that he shared it with me. He was incredibly happy with his life with Jennifer and their little piece of rural living.
Those of us who are of a “certain” age see the frailty of life as we see our friends and peers departing too soon. To Jennifer, the family, and Paul’s friends, I extend my sincerest condolences. Goodbye my Friend.
