Ted, Angie and families,

Please accept our most sincere condolences . Your mother was one of the sweetest people we have ever known. Its hard to imagine how such a petite lady could have such a big heart. Words cant even begin to express the sorrow we are feeling right now. I hope you find comfort in knowing how others thought what an awesome person she was and that knowing what a privilege it was to know her and call her a friend. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

My friend has fought a long hard battle. She brought merriment, encouragement, joy, and love to so many within her family and wherever she encountered customers and others.

May Dee Rest In Peace.

May her family remember the joy, comedy, the love, and examples she set for thrm

Families of Dee, We are sorry to read of Dee's passing. When ever Larry and I would get back in town we made a point to look up Dee, at whichever bank she might be. My self for classmate updates and Larry for PIDCO and other business's. She was always happy to see us and catch us both up on activities around town. She put up a good fight and in the end Jim will be waiting for her. Prayers to Angie and Ted and their families. Never forget your Mom's smile and welcome.

To the Brown & Girten Family, know that my thoughts and prayers go out to you today. Dee-Dee, that's what we called your Mom and Sister, growing up together on the south side of Plymouth. Dee always was a kind and happy little girl, cheerful young lady, and pleasant and considerate into all of her adult years.

May Dee now be in joyful reunion with Jim, her Mom & Dad, sisters Lynn and little Jane, and all of them, who she love, that went before her. It's time now for Dee to hold you all near in prayer, now and always in the arms of Jesus. And now, may all you of the most wonderful and large and loving family cherish her memory forever.

With Sympathy,

Prayers for peace and comfort are directed your way from the Derf family. What a long lasting impression of joy, love, and friendship the Girten family exuded over the years. So much love radiated from the family members and it is with a broken heart that we say good-bye to our good Girten friends. But, Dee's long courageous fight is over now she is at peace and in her Heavenly Home. Her impressions of loving kindness will live on forever. So many memories of her big smile and wonderful laugh from a high school cheerleader to a fan at the slow pitch softball games. Her kindred spirit will fit right in at her Savior's side.

God bless you all. Your family has always meant so much to me through the years.

So hard to believe Dee is not with us anymore. Even though we didn’t see each other that often, when we did meet for lunch
it was like we just saw each other yesterday. A true friend, and a pillar for the PHS Class of ‘60 when planning class reunions.
Eternal Rest, Dee.

Ted, Angie, and the entire Brown/Girten Clan,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Dee. I will forever remember her with a smile on her face and ready laugh. She had a zest for life, love, and in particular her family. I have fond memories of Dee and Brownie playing bridge with my mother and father, and the laughter they brought into our home. May you find peace in your hearts from the memories you share.

To the Brown and Girten Families, Dee was quite the girl. A friendly smile and hello when she seen you. She was taking treatments in 1998 when my husband Olen was.. She would say to him, Olen you got to eat and smile at him.

May she now Rest In Peace.

My prayers are with you all at this time.

Dee was like a another mom to me in Junior High. She trusted me to care for Ted and Angi and (along with Mel) introduced me to that whole wonderful Girten clan. I loved hanging out on the south side with them. Sending lots of love to all of you.

Marilyn and I are sorry to hear of Dee’s passing. Both of us knew her as a lovely person who brightened any room she entered. I was in her class at Webster School, then PHS all the way through school. Like every boy in our 5th and 6th grade class, I had a major unrequited crush on Dee. She was smart, cute as a button (my father’s phrase), giving, kind and friendly with everyone.

In high school, Marilyn especially remembers her spirited enthusiasm and loyalty as a PHS cheerleader. We shared football and basketball games, dances in the old gym, two proms, and more. My dad worked for the State Exchange Bank for several years. When we came home to visit, he always passed on the latest about Dee and her busy life.

After 1970 we saw her only at class reunions. Spending five minutes or so catching up was one of the nice things we got to do. Don’t think I am trivializing Dee’s memory, but when I think of Dee, I think of two lines from an original song a couple guys sang 20 or 30 years after we graduated. Here are two lines from the song:

The only thing we remember for certain,
Is that we all were in love with Dee Dee Girten.

We extend sympathy to all who had the pleasure of growing old beside her. Dee, and all who loved her best, are in our prayers.

Hebrew 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our sorrows.... 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and prayers for all find grace to help us in our time of need.

May God's touch be evident today and in the days ahead. May He be real in an undeniable way to each of you. And may you as family and friends sense the deep assurance of mercy and grace that Christ offers each of us. May His strength be yours....

With love and continual prayers
