I will always remember Ruth as an avid lover of sports, especially in regards to her boys! I remember my mom and dad taking me to watch a baseball game played by women! One of whom was Ruth! She was an all out kind of player which reflected in her life! Rest in peace Ruthie!

I will always remember Ruth for so many things. Her children’s live for her, her grandchildren and their stories of her and their love for her, her strawberry pie and so many other things too numerous to mention

So to her husband, children, grandchildren , and to her siblings, may you all remember those good smiles and experiences and know that
Her example and love will live on

To John, Tom, Curt, Phil, and Todd I send my heartfelt condolences. I have the fondest of memories of Ruth/Mom. I started hunting with Tom back in the mid 70's. I would arrive in the morning and your Mom would tell me I had to have something to eat before we hit the happy hunting grounds. Tom and I would be back in for lunch and at the end of the day I would be ready to head home and more times then not I was sitting at the Samuelson table for dinner. Now, the all night poker games we had in the basement at the Samuelson compound were something that urban legends our made of. Who do you think kept a watchful eye over us and kept a never ending supply of nourishment? None other then Mother Samuelson. I actually did have my own home but she made sure I had another Home-away-from-Home. It seems almost another lifetime ago that I think back on those memories and that wonderful woman that was part of them. I knew that Mother Samuelson was in failing health these last few years and I made it a point last fall to drive out to visit her. Tom took me to her room and had her look at me and I said "Hi Ruth", she didn't hesitate and said, "Hi Jim". Her body was worn out but her mind was sharp. I will miss her. Thanks for sharing her with me. I'm sorry I can't be there in person for the service but those memories I have are cherished ones. Prayers to all of you. Jim

I remember Ruth so fondly and the love she showed to her family and so many others. Her love for sports and her boys was always present. We went to church at Immanuel Lutheran with her and she always greeted you with one of her beautiful smiles. Her work here on earth is done and her heavenly home awaits her, continued prayers to all the family.

Heaven is a richer place, for surely that is where Ruth will spend eternity. She was one of the kindest and most delightful people whom I ever met. I cannot imagine that any person who knew her would say that she was unkind in any way. And what a legacy she leaves behind with a Norman Rockwell picture type family. You all were so blessed to have such a loving, caring wife and mother. May God grant you peace in her passing with the understanding that she is in a wonderful Paradise. Your family is admired by so many and you have all made a family example you can be proud of.
Our prayers are with you.
