I have very fond memories of my piano lesson days at the Read home. For 6 years, Mrs. Read showered me with patience and kindness and taught me a true appreciation for the beautiful sounds of the piano. I still enjoy playing to this day. I’m truly sorry for your loss and I hope you find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Read (ohs),
I did not know your mom. I am a little familiar with some of her very impressive children. She had to have been a wonderful lady and mother. Good luck in these difficult times.

Larry and I want to send you all a heartfelt condolence from our family to yours. The Reads, Greenlee's and Chase's have been friends as long as we can remember. Sue taught me to play the organ at the age of 15 and I can remember Jeff playing up in the balcony (knowing he was going to fall on top of me). We enjoyed those Sundays with the Chases and Tharps at the lake. Les and Sue were quietly pillars of the community.

Dear Nancy, Steve, Jane, and Jeff,
I am very sorry to read of the loss of your mom. Losing a loved one is not easy, regardless of the circumstances. I'm sorry I can't be there to share memories together. The strength, love, and friendship your mom had for everyone was so much a part of her. I know that the heavenly choirs of angels will now have the best organist to help them. I know that the strength and love of family along with the promise of the resurrection will help you all through this difficult time. Tears are the price we must pay for loving someone.
Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I had a very special place in my heart for my Aunt Sue. I remember going in the summer to Aunt Sue and Uncle
Lester’s.Steve and I would lay on the floor and play Monopoly. As I recall, we never finished a game. Aunt Sue never seemed to mind the mess we made. We laughed a lot! I would have to say that Aunt Sue was my most admired woman. She made a huge impact on my life!
I regret it that I won’t be able to attend the visitation or the service.gc

Our deepest sympathy to the Read family for your loss. We have been blest to know Sue for many years. She was a sweet, kind, gentle soul with many accomplishments. As everyone knows that knew Sue, music was her greatest love, besides her family. A church organist for 70 years! Wow! What dedication!! She has left a lasting legacy and wonderful memories for family and friends alike. She is now sharing her gift of music in heaven. May God heal your pain as you mourn the loss of this special lady. She will be missed by many.

It is with many fond memories that we think of Sue and Lester. Lester was a role model for many a young man and Sue lit up our lives with music. Sue brought joy into our marriage with the music she chose for our wedding. There was a special bond with Sue and Lester throughout all of our marriage. To see Sue on the organ bench and Lester in the narthex was to see a wholesome, steady influence in our lives. Sue will be missed. Every generation needs a Sue and Les! Thank God they touched us and it made a difference. Janet joins me in sending our love to you at this special fragile time.

God lets us live in our bodies as long as he can but when we can live here no longer he gives us a way to live forever. This is our faith.

My deepest sympathies to the Read family. I was in Plymouth (my hometown) this past weekend and learned of Sues’s passing. It was my honor to know both Sue and Les over the years. Her music in church was always so uplifting and I was happy to have had her as my organ teacher. She also played for our wedding and the funeral services for my dad, mom and sister. What a God-given gift she had! Heaven has truly gained one of THE best!

My deep sympathy and condolences to the Read family, as well as to her extended family in the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Plymouth community. Sue touched so many lives with her wonderful talent and loving spirit, a true messenger of God,. Her ever-present smile and magical touch on the piano and organ keyboards gave such a Joyful Noise to any event or occasion. Thank you for your service, Sue, and may you continue to bless your fellow Angels in Heaven with your music and love.

Sue lived a life of exceptional service to her family, her church, and the entire community. She often walked by my house on her way to the church, and we had pleasant chats. Her musical skills, and her ability to serve are to be missed, and not to be fulfilled.
