I'm so sorry I won't be able to come to be with you in remembering your wife, mom, and grandma. She was a special lady and always made me feel like she was so happy to see me. She was so faithful and I knew she was someone I would see every time I went to church. I've often wished my kids had someone in their life to encourage them like Doris was in my life. Doris, dad, and mom are having eternal "after Sunday evening church" fellowship once again.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

When we bought our first house (the brick house "on the hill" at 15344 US 6) back in 2005, the sellers told us to expect a plate of Christmas cookies in the mailbox from "Doris." We had no idea who that was but, lo and behold, not long after Thanksgiving there indeed was a plate of Christmas cookies with warm wishes from Bob & Doris. I met Doris right after that and, over the years we were neighbors, found that this simple act of welcome and Holiday kindness was nothing unusual for this kind and generous woman. I've always loved a phrase from Tolstoy: “Add your light to the sum of light.” With Doris' passing, the world has gotten a little dimmer.

So sorry about your Mom Passing. So many memories over the years. You guys were great neighbors. hope your Dad is doing well. We are going out of town tomorrow, so won't be able
to attend the Wake. You are in our thoughts.
