Ajean, Jim, Gary, Tom and Tim, Emily and Michael........one of the nicest men I knew. Felt so privileged to work for/with him 3 different times in my life. So sad to hear of his passing but what a legend he has been for you, and the town of Plymouth. He loved each of you so sincerely, so proud of each of you grandchildren!! He will certainly be missed!! I got a hug in June when I was home, followed by "love you"...... Can't remember which name he called me because as we know, he had several for each of his employees!! Wonderful man, probably already measuring someone's suit pants in heaven. Prayers for you as you go thru the next months adjusting to your life without him.

Ajean and Family,
As you know Budd and I shared the same birthday, and every year on December 19th for probably 35 years he would send me a present from the store- a new sweater, a nice shirt, whatever he thought I would like. Never did it go unappreciated, and never was it given expecting something in return, that's the kind of guy he was, but of course you already know that! He will be truly missed by the Plymouth community. My prayers are with you.

To Gary and all the Treat Family.

After reading the complete obit, he was an iconic figure of this community, starting with his being a Young man, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and a very successful Businessman. One of the nicest men I've ever met, always thinking of everybody else first. He always had something nice to say, and was always happy at the store. Deepest condolences for the whole Treat family.

Dear Family, my husband Chuck and I were so sad to find out Bud has past. We had no idea he was even sick. He was a dear friend of my father and mother too! George and Elberta Davis. A wonderful story about Bud. Our son Jamie Johnson was a member of the 1982 Plymouth Champs basketball Team. He needed a sport coat, when the team went to Indianapolis for some of the functions leading up to the State Basketball Game. We went to Treats to see if they could fit Jamie. He needed something like a 42 long, I believe? Bud said, I don't have anything in the store that will fit him. He said, you take him to South Bend and when you find it, bring it back here and I will have it altered for him. Just bring it out to the house! We only found one sport coat, that even came close! We took it out to the house (this was after dark!). The Team was leaving the next day! I don't remember what time? But, Bud had it all ready for him. That is just how Wonderful Bud was to people. We want you all to know, we will truly miss Bud from our community!

We are not sure we can make it to the funeral home on Thursday and that is why I wanted to send you our deepest condolences.

My sincere condolences to Budd Treat's family. I always could count on Budd to help me select just the right slacks, shirt, tie, socks for Bill and other family/friends. Budd Treat was a kind and generous businessman and friend. I alway was happy seeing him with Ajean at Pizza Bill's and stopping by the table for a kind word. Gary I remember you and others being there for us when Bill passed away in 2005 and just know we are here for you during this difficult time. Love, Joan Hunt

Through the years we do things that are right and we do some things that are wrong, after which we learn NOT to do those things again. Budd did so many things right and has built a landmark in the Plymouth community that may very will carry on forever. And he raised a responsible family to carry on his legacy which has benefited so many Budd and his family always made sure that "portly" suits were available for the former voice of the BIG RED and I so often appreciated it. Heaven is a richer place today and our thoughts and prayers are with the family. You are all so special and had wonderful leadership from Budd and Ajean. We don't do everything right as parents, but in the end we can measure our success as a parent by the quality of our children. And the Treats are rock solid.

God comfort you at this delicate time.

To my buddy Gary, Ajean, and Treat family,

Sincere thoughts and prayers from Texas. I'm thinking of Budd and the Treat family, all the fond memories over the years. From close initial friends of my parents when the Hunt's moved to Plymouth many moons ago, visits at the Squire Shop, activities on Pretty Lake, even neighbors on Manor Drive. Budd was a great man and surely will be missed by family, friends, and the Plymouth community. I'm sorry I cannot pay my respects in person at the funeral home but believe me my thoughts and prayers are with you today, also I'll take some time to rejoice in a life well lived!

God bless.

An Amazing life that touched so many and the positive ripple effect Bud had on so many lives. I'll always remember when in high school in 1967, "Bud" giving me a T Shirt to wear promoting Treats Squire Shop. He always made you feel special and of course made you look good. Then my son Adam had the opportunity to work for Bud and Gary, and learn all about looking good and professional plus the wit and wisdom of all of Bud's experiences, that so many others also were touched by who crossed Bud's path through his amazing life. Faith, Family and Friends, God Bless

Dear Ajean and Family

So sorry for your loss, Bud was most likely one of the best known person not only in Plymouth but all of Marshall County.

I was not able to come to the viewing as that is our Soup Kitchen Day. We seldom get out until after 7 P.M.

We know he is at peaceful rest.

Many special memories came to mind this week after learning of Budd's passing. When my brother, Buzz, worked at the Squire Shop during high school, I frequently met him there to catch a ride home at the end of the day. Budd always made me feel welcomed & special while I waited. He knew just what to do or say to put a smile back on someone's face. It takes a special person to regularly inspire joy in others, and Budd did just that!

Over the years, Budd helped countless PHS students grow into confident young men. In what was often their first "real" job, Budd taught them to work together as a team to deliver the best possible customer experience. And as those high school students grew more comfortable & skilled in their work, they developed their own personal style.
Budd loved to see his haberdasher protégé reach their fullest potential, no wonder so many of them continued to visit the Squire Shop for years to continue to talk with Budd.

Like Buzz, my twin brother, Karl, loved Budd like a second father. I think Karl actually spent more time with the Treat family than he did at home during our last two years at PHS. But the most special memory I have of Budd is from the day my mom died. After a long drive, I walked in to find Mr. Treat keeping my dad company until at least one of the Krohn "kids" got home. What a loving spirit, with a heart of gold!
