Uncle Don will be missed. I never had an interaction with him that wasn't pleasant; I never felt unwelcome in his home. Being at Bev and Don's growing up was an integral part of my childhood and a source of many, many wonderful times. I can so easily hear him calling Kati a snake in the grass followed by his chuckle. When I last visited with him, he sat down and talked with and showed genuine interest in my children and their lives; he was already special in my heart, but that took him to a new level. I will always treasure the memories.

Connie and family, so sorry for your loss of such a great brother as Don. It is wonderful to know the plan of salvation, and know this is just a short time until you will all be reunited again someday.

A name had I totally forgotten as the years have gone by but I truly enjoyed the years Don and I worked together when I was the district commissioner for the LDS Scout Troop in Madison IN. Don helped me to have a better undstanding of the LDS and how they used the BSA in the youth program of the church (I was a Baptist with very little info on the LDS). I am so sorry to hear of his passing and will lift the family up in prayer during this difficult time.

Dear Beverly and Family,

We were surprised and saddened to learn of Don?s passing this weekend. As we watch all sessions of general conference and are taught about tolerance, obedience, serving our youth and being better fathers, I cannot help but remember the wonderful example that Brother Fordham has shown in all of these areas of the Gospel. Truly a sweet and meek spirit, without guile, with a golden heart. I remember the time, effort, perseverance and patience he dedicated to those in need. He believed in helping individuals and families, one by one, through love and personal sacrifices.

We express our love to you, Christian, Andrea and families, and pray for Father in Heaven?s blessings of comfort and reassurance that you all will one day be reunited to your husband, father and grandfather.

We are grateful for our blessing to be associated with Don and to have learned from him during many precious years.

Love,

So sorry to hear of the passing of Don. I worked with Bev at Triton High School for many years, and enjoyed her so much. We would eat in the teacher's lounge and hear the stories of the family and their travels. Our condolences to your whole family.

Don was great to us during those early months at Knox. His home was a place of refuge away from the mayhem of Army Training when I could get there. He and his wife helped us a ton when we were young. Connie stayed with them in Indiana back in 1970 for several months while I was in Basic Training and AIT at Ft Knox. We enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with them that year. Don was always a happy, helpful and generous Person towards us, and we appreciated his visits to our house when he would drive out here to Utah for Fordham Family Reunions. He was good to us in other ways too. 7 years later, after I had done College -and I finally got my Teaching Certificate - we moved to AF. We wanted to buy some Front Room Furniture, having lived on hand-me-downs that were in pretty rough shape after the boys had been trouncing them for 3 or 4 years. Don stopped by our place to visit during one of his trips out here for a Family Reunion and saw what we had. Connie mentioned we wanted something new, but I was building on the back of the house, too - and my $6000.00 a year salary wasn't stretching very far. I guess Don had decided I wasn't turning out to be the barbarian most people thought I was - anyway, he said, "You go pick out what you want and I'll pay for it." Being kinda stubborn and independent, I said, "I can't do that." He raised his eyebrowns the way he had of doing, looked at me outta one eye, and said, "Listen to me....yes you can." And that was that. He bought our first set of new Front Room Furniture - and I've always felt hugely grateful to him for that! He was a very good Man. Vaya con Dios,, Don Ole Pard -
