Brenda, Greg & Sue, Geoff & Jenny, and family:

My sincere condolences to you and your entire family. Mr. Payne was always a caring, friendly figure in my life. It was great "growing up" as neighbors and knowing that Mr. Payne would want us to work hard, study hard, but also play hard. He was always asking how school was going and "how's your golf game?" I'll never forget the time Ken, my dad, my son, and I played golf at River Hills. Andrew, my son, road around for 18 holes in Ken's golf cart and I couldn't tell who was having a better time, Ken or Andrew!

Cherish the wonderful memories. I wish I could be there to celebrate his life with you and your family. Know that your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Brenda,

I am very sorry to hear that Ken has passed. I know you were a good and loyal care taker and companion through the years. Fifty six years together is quite a wonderful accomplishment and I hope you will find some comfort, as time goes by, in the good memories of your life together. Peace be to you and your sons and family in this hard time of transition.

Brenda, Greg, Geoff,
Earl and I send our sincere condolences. Ken was a special friend, a wonderful person, a fantastic boss and a "friendly" competitor. We shared many entertaining evening playing cards- these are times that we look back on with smiles. Wish that we could be there to give you all hugs, but know that each of you is in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Saying good-bye to a loved one is the toughest assignment we have in life and my condolences are extended to the family of one of the most wonderful people I have had the pleasure to meet. Ken was one of the most respected individuals I have met and your family was so fortunate to have him as a lifetime mentor. Heaven is a richer place having his spirit residing there with his Savior. Celebrate his Heavenly life. free of pain and suffering. What a terrific legacy he leaves with a family he was so proud to honor.

Dear Payne Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Payne was a great man. I have always been so thankful to Mr. Payne for giving John and me the opportunity to teach in Plymouth and make this community our family's home. Mr. Payne was an excellent superintendent - able to make teachers feel so valued and appreciated. In turn, this made us want to extend this kindness and work ethic to our students. He touched many lives and will always be remembered.

To Brenda and the entire Payne family,

My deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. I was lucky enough to know Ken my entire life. First as a neighbor, second as the man who had the power to cancel school for snow days and lastly as friend.

I enjoyed all the times we spent together in Florida for dinners, birthdays and other get togethers. Ken will be missed my many. He was a very special man who touched many many lives. Especially mine.

Mrs.Payne,
I am so sorry to hear of your husbands passing. I remember he encouraged me to go out for the B basketball team when I was a sophomore in high school. I had you as a teacher for sophomore English or was it freshmen English. I remember being in your class. May the peace of Christ flow in your heart and in the hearts of your children.

Brenda;
Today, with much sadness, I read of Kenny's passing. Ken was a quality person in all of his endeavors He was a great ambassador for Ball State University and the Department of Educational Administration. He was a great model and mentor for many within his chosen profession and the community of educators. I especially appreciated his energy and leadership in organizing the NEIPSSC public school study council. I shall remember forever the many times our paths crossed, his friendship, assistance. My condolences to all....

We are sorry to learn of Ken s passing and offer our heartfelt condolences to the Payne family. Dr.Payne was very instrumental in our move to Plymouth. I am reminded of the phrase he emphasized "Plymouth is a great place to raise a family," which I have remembered these last 38 years. We appreciated his kindness and support as Superintendent of PCSC.
