Dear Lynn and All Family:
I am so sorry to be sending this at such a late date. I moved to Paris, Tennessee several years ago and I am often late to learn of important events that take place in northern Indiana. My Mother, Marie R. Summers, thought the world of "the Long girls" and I have pictures at home of the bowling team that Grace, my Mom and Loretta Ruff were on together. They had matching team uniforms and boy the pictures looked like they had some serious fun! Of course I remember Lynn as we are about the same age and the time spent at the Blissville Church of the Brethren on the Plymouth-LaPorte Trail and in Sunday school class when we were little. Lynn and her beautiful long blonde hair. Mary (Dare), Doris (Lamborn) and Grace were close and I remember when I was young how beautiful I thought they were and how nice they always looked at church. Our parents were all pretty good friends. It was a fine community of hard working people. There were many other lovely people, most now all gone, but I still have warm and fond memories. I wish you all the best. I know myself how hard it is to lose Mother. That will never change. But as a good friend said to me, and he was and still is right: "we are people of faith"... I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that many people loved and thought highly of your folks and family. In life, our God, family and name is all that we truly have. God bless you all, and my heart felt good wishes to you. Sincerely, Mary Ann Summers
