To Velma and all of the children

So sorry to hear about this passing. We all go back 50 years and so many happenings come to mind....Lyman and Jerry discussing history and sharing books, my borrowing his military jacket for our Encore Windows, the pens that he sold Jerry and the last time I saw him laughing and our talking at Miller's while he had just been to dinner, reading and holding court.

May you have happy memories.

Dear Velma & family,
I was shocked to learn of Lyman's passing. What great memories my first golf trophy against him Our trying to rescue a couple in the water across the street from hole number 16 on May 39,1958. He bought my house when I moved to Florida. He accused me of selling him the coal in the basement . We had many great memories & stories. He will be greatly missed by me & I will always cherish the memories of a wonderful kind friend that I have lost. May his soul rest in peace & may God Bless his family.

Dear Butler Children,
I can only remember the "good old times" we all had in the old neighborhood.
Your father always had a smile and a joke for us.
Know that he will be remembered and keep those happy memories close.
They always help.
Give your mother my regards, please.

Dear Velma,
My son John called me this evening to tell me about Lyman dying. This is such a sad time. I know because my wife Frances died in March.
I thought the world of you and Lyman. You probably remember that I played a lot of golf with Lyman and was his and your Doctor. I remember him being in the hospital with pericarditis and since I was on call there you brought me a bag of popcorn. Do not ask why I remember except I remember many caring people.
We moved to Naples, Florida in 1985 so I have not seen Lyman since but I truly remember what a great friend he is.
Love,
Jim Hampton

Larry and I are saddened to read of Lyman's passing. Bill and Ramona were so glad you took the time to stop in at the church and see them at Jack's funeral. You both go way back and had such good times together. Bless you all at this sad time.

Mrs. Butler and Family,

We were so honored to have been given the opportunity to interview your Dad for our WWII Project at the Weidner School of Inquiry @PHS last fall. Mr. Butler came in so excited to talk with our students and he had great stories for them to listen to. He truly helped make this history project become a life changing experience for all our students. We are certain that they will never forget their time with our local WWII Veterans.

Our WSOI Staff and Learners are grateful for Mr. Butler's service to our country and our thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
WSOI Staff and Students

I don't have any stories to tell or share other than Bruce and I spent some time here and there at their family home back in our high school days. Mr. Butler always greeted me warmly and offered up a drink or snack and just told us to have fun doing what we teenagers would do. My condolences to the family.

Velma,

Our condolences for your loss of your dear husband. I remember you and Lyman when we were neighbors on Charles St. back in the early 60's when your children were just little tikes. My Aunt Onie Massing from Orlando, FL also sends her sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God give you strength for each day.
