David, Kathy and Family,

Then the child opened its eyes, and looked up into the angel's beautiful face, which beamed with happiness, and at the same moment they were in heaven, where joy and bliss reigned. The child received wings like the other angel, and they flew about together, hand in hand. by Hans Christian Andersen

Praying for comfort and peace during your time of sorrow.

Kathy and David,

You probably don't remember me, but I remember you and David, from my volunteering in class at Webster many years ago. I remember David as a kindergartner, 1st, 2nd, 3rd-grader with Giuliana and my heart is sick for you. I just want you to know that Giuliana, Allegra, Kirk and I are thinking of you and sending our prayers of healing, strength, comfort and peace to you and your family. There are no words for what you're enduring, at least none I can offer. Wishing you peace. -The Davis Family, Washington NC

Dear Bacon Family,
Nothing I say could bring you comfort at this time but what God says will. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) We know David was a believer and it doesn't matter how he died, he's in heaven with Jesus! I worked for your Mom and Dad at the Holiday Inn front desk the summer of my Junior year in college when your Mom was pregnant with you, Dave. Through them I share your grief and sadness for your loss on earth and also your joy in knowing where he is now. God bless you all in the coming days.

Hebrew 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses.... 16 Let us then approach God?s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

May God's touch be evident today and in the days ahead. May He be real in an undeniable way to each of you and all that have been touched by this tough earthly loss. May the words and music shared today leave an eternal imprint on each and every person present. And may you as family and close friends sense the deep assurance of mercy and grace that Christ offers each of us. May His strength be yours this day....

Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Words cannot express how much our hearts ache for you during this time. I have so many fond memories of David as a baby and young boy as I watched and cared for him in the church nursery. During my time working at the high school, it was such a blessing then to see his smiling face and observe the fine young man that he had become while he was mentoring fellow students. May your faith sustain you all during this time and the days ahead.

Dear Bacon Family,
I want you all to know how very sorry I am for your loss. David brought a smile everywhere he went and brought joy into the Miranda house when he came over. I will always remember David in a positive way with all the laughs my brother and I shared with him along with all the athletic events we competed against each other in. He was an amazing athlete but an even more amazing young man. My love and prayers go out to your family and know that God has a plan and will bless you all immensely. Thank you for raising such an amazing, funny, and awesome young man. It was my pleasure to have shared memories with him. The Miranda family loves you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy, while I know God will help in providing you strength during this difficult time, please know you are in my prayers. As your friend, and also a mother of 3 children, including a 17 year old boy, I have shed many tears, since hearing of your loss. A mother's love for her children is special, strong, and forever. As your son, David, walks with Jesus, your bond will never be broken.
God bless you and your family.

I do not know you personally, but we have been through what you are going through a little over 2 years ago when we lost our precious son Gavin at the same age. I want you to know that your family has been in my thoughts, and that will continue. I know your world has been turned upside down and it will never be the same without your precious son David - I wish there were words I could say to comfort you, but I know nothing helps right now. Rest when you can, and let your neighbors friends and whoever offers to do things for you do for you - you need it and they want to help and don't know any other way to help. If you ever need or want to talk to another mother that has been and is still going through this same tragedy, my phone will be listed and you can call me when you are ready. You can call me anytime - night or day.

You do not know me either but I can repeat every word from Gina Grimes as I do not know her either. I feel every bit of your pain...second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour and day by day! I just have to keep reminding myself that he is happy up above. As you lay your son to rest it has been exactly two months that my son Garrett decided to meet God in person.
