John was a tireless worker on behalf of many children in the community for many years. I enjoyed working with him during my time with the Plymouth Park Department. A good man and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time.

Such wisdom, understanding and love of the games, you shared with all of our children, John. Never was seen a more patient man, encouraging a new t-baller or even a seasoned player. You could always be counted on to be where needed, having everything under control, the twinkle in your eye an indication of the excitement to come.
In a T-baal tourney at Lapaz, I'll never forget, my son, Benjamin was up to bat. John knew him to be a hard slugger, hitting the ball way into the field. John placed the ball, B swung, the ball was hit hard and as it left the tee, we lost sight of it. John watched for it to come down, coaches, parents, players, didn't see it. Homerun! All of a sudden, John's laughter rang out over the shouting. The ball had gone straight up, apparently pretty high as no one saw it, and landed back on the tee! John hugged B and said, in all my years, that's never happened! John teased my son every time he saw him, for pulling one over on him. <3
May you Rest In Peace, dear man!
Love, hugs and prayers, to his precious wife, Nancy, and family.

It was my honor to serve under John, as my company commander, over fifty years ago. I salute you
Captain Sarber. You honored your family and all of us with your presents and service in the Army and the community.

My deep condolence and prayers are with Nancy and all of the family.

Sympathy and concern for you Nancy and extended family at this time. A long battle fought with dignity, love of kids, sometimes gruffness but always inside love.

God Bless.
