A very vibrant lady, who led a charmed life. RIP Belle.

I am rather certain that I will not be there for services as I am leaving for a Sr. Citizens trip.

My sympathy to all of her children, grandchildren and extended family. You will have such great memories of both parents and frankly, so will I.

Our condolences to Belle's family. What a wonderful and beautiful lady. We had such fun with all the Pretty Lake residents at the lake and in Florida. Belle was a great organizer and saw to it that we had time together in the summer and the winter. She will be missed by all.

Dear Family, I am sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you during this time. Belle was a great lady. I enjoyed dancing with her at the Plymouth Country Club and playing two ball on Wednesday nights. What a great sense of humor she had. Belle and Joan can now hit the course again together.

Dear Ned, Sue, and Steve,

What a wonderful lady. I have many memories of your mom. One memory from many years ago was her calling up the stairs at my parents' home on South Michigan. She had come to visit my mom and for some reason she called upstairs to me. I was playing with my dolls and was in the middle of a tea party, and I wouldn't answer until she called me by my imaginary name. I always will remember that she understood me and played along with my imagination. She joined my tea party...I'm sure we bonded then and shared many more memories for many more years!

Everyone who knew her...will miss her!

Our condolences to Belle's family. She was an Ambassador for each and every one of the activities and events she took part in....her cup was always full. She lived a wonderful life and will be remembered by many friends and neighbors and her family as a caring and loving individual. Sorry we cannot attend the gathering and service as we have plans to visit our daughter and family in Omaha. Peace for all..

Belle of Pretty Lake was a beautiful lady & our next door neighbor for 41 years. We retired at Pretty Lake to be near her family. Many wonderful memories & vacations in Michigan, Georgia,Ft Myers Beach & North Miami Beach will always be cherished. What a wonderful cook & Baker. Our freezer always had her cakes, cookies & other goodies to fill our tables. She is now in Heaven with her wonderful husband Bill. It is difficult to say goodbye to a wonderful soul. We have been blessed with her presence these many years & we thank God for such a great lady. Thanks Belle you were the greatest friend that we have been blessed with your presence. May you rest in Peace.

Belle was a wonderful woman who was always a joy. I looked forward to playing bridge against her at the bridge table where she was always in a positive mood.
Belle was also the impetus for me to start a scholarship fund at the Marshall County Community Foundation. I had been considering starting a fund for some time . However inertia controlled me until I read a list of the scholarship funds at the foundation. On that list was a fund founded by Belle - the William E. Shemberger Music Scholarship. Around 1961, Mr. Shemberger sold a Selmer Paris alto saxophone to me at a very favorable price. I decided to give that sax to the MCCF who sold it for several thousand dollars. I used that money to contribute to the Shemberger fund and to also start my own fund. So, a kind act to a young kid and a fund started by a thoughtful woman led over 50 years later to monies which will help students continue their educations.
