Just wanted you all to know I am thinking of you at this sad time. I remember the first night I was allowed to spend the night away from home and it was at the Cowen home. Bonnie and I had the job of finding a Christmas present for our teacher, Mr. Huffman so we went to "town" to find a gift and I was allowed to spend the night. Willis had a cow at that time and of course, he milked it. We had some of that milk for dinner that evening. I thought it tasted terrible so Edna put some chocolate syrup in it to make it taste better. It didn't taste any better to me!! I have other wonderful memories of Edna and the family down through the years. My mother was very fond of Edna. They cooked together for our Junior/Senior Prom and were together to help at other functions as well. When they were together, they were always laughing and always had a good time. My mother has been gone for 34 years now and I think about her every day. It is an awful thing to lose your "Mommy." Willis, I know too how it hurts to lose your mate. I lost mine four years ago after only 46 years of marriage, so I can only imagine how losing a mate of 71 years must feel. I just wanted all of you to know you are in my thoughts and wanted to send my sincere sympathy to the family.

Please extend my sympathy to Willis and his family . I was Edna's "bridesmaid" when she and Willis were married at the Methodist Church parsonage in Larwill. . As I recall it was a cloudy day but everything was made bright by Willis and Edna's happiness. I have not seen them for many years but have always remembered them with love.. I am so sorry that she is gone.
