Dear Jenny and Family, it is with sadness I write this to all of you. We are in Florida, right now and we feel so sad to read, that Jack has passed away. We shall miss him and have such fond memories of Jack! Playing Church softball, working at G & G and of course! Mayor of Plymouth! I have a picture of our oldest Grandson with Jack. When we get home, I will have to see that you get a copy! We are very sorry, we won't be there personally to give you our sincere sympathy. With Love, Chuck and Marilee Johnson

Great Man! I worked for jack at Dave&Rays while in school. One Christmas he gave everyone an envelope with a $2 bill in it. He wrote on the envelope "save this and you'll never be broke." I still have this. Jack you were a great man, and had a great impact on a lot of people. RIP Jack

To the Greenlee family:
Jack always had a special place in my heart. When I was in Grade 10 and working on weekends at the G and G, my father died of a heart attack. Jack showed concern and compassion for me at that time. After high school I moved away but returned to Plymouth to visit family and during those visits Jack and I often ran into each other on the street, stopping to reminisce and catch up on each other's lives. I never forgot the kindness he showed to me. And to my PHS classmate, Sue Chase, both Phil and I extend our sympathy on the loss of your brother. I am sure he will be greatly missed.

Jenny - our deepest sympathy to you and your family for your loss. Jack didn't know a stranger and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He touched many lives over the years in the grocery business, young and old alike, and will be greatly missed in the community. May you draw strength knowing that he now has no more pain. God be with you and give you peace.

Dear Jenny & Family,
Bill and I were so sorry and saddened to hear of Jack's passing. Jack will be remembered by so many including the Hilliard's for his positive role he played in the community. such a caring person, always willing to help anyone in anyway he could. I will always remember how he was waiting for those Christmas cookies and maybe a piece or two of fudge. At this difficult time, may God grant you all peace and comfort in knowing that he now is at peace and no more pain. You are all in our thoughts and prayers and may God continue to bless each and everyone of you.

To my loving and caring family. I am so thankful that God kept Jack in his hands until Larry, Barry and I got there Sunday. He knew I was there and even answered a family ancestry question that I had for him. He was our historian and remembered every thing I asked of him Sunday. Also thank you God for taking him out of his pain and I know he is with you as I write this. God bless you all for taking the time to stop in Sunday and visit with us all. Jenny bless your heart, and you know God answered both of our prayers. You were praying that God would take him and I was praying that God would hold him until we got there. And he did both for us. Jack was taken from us as we were on the road at 8:30 Monday morning to come back home. Rest in peace Jack.. Love Sue, Larry and Barry.

Our sincere Condolences to the entire Greenlee family! I'm a classmate of Jamies and we grew up an in era when a community embraced the old adage that "it takes a church village to raise a child". Jack certainly embraced, lived and relished his role. Our Good Lord only knows how many lifes he impacted for the Kingdom simply by enteracting with them as they crossed his path. God Bless You!

Jenny, Jill, Janice, and Jamie,

I can't tell you how sad it is to hear that Jack has left us. There was so many memories of Jack that made him such a special person. What you saw is what you got!! A man that could cause a room to erupt with laughter while at the same time, not cracking a smile. A man who looked after all of his "boys at G & G" as if they were part of the family. A man who brought a smile to everyone because he would always ask how they were and then took time to listen. A man who acted like a big tough guy, but in reality was just a big teddy bear with the heart of a giant! A man who left everyone he met, wanting to be a better person. While we on earth are left with a giant void that can never be filled, I know that Jack is celebrating because he has been called to be with his heavenly father. The Angels are singing. Tears are the price we pay for loving someone.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jenny, Jill, Janice, Jamie and Julie, my condolences to you and your families for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather.
I will always remember Jack for his sense of humor that many misinterpreted and did not value it. Since we shared that trait, neither of us were offended in our bantering over the years. I also remember our many years of suffering together as loyal Cub fans. Jack loved Plymouth and was always giving back. Everything he did if life was done to make the city or someone's life a better place to live. As I look around me, I can see where he has succeeded. I know I am a better person having Jack in my life. We started out in the 1950s as six young couples with small children as the "500 Card Club" and now only six of us remain. I can envision the six that have passed on continuing that tradition together along with a poker game or two. RIP Jack and I look forward to joining you again soon; but not immediately God.

Cousin Jack was always the "life of the party"!
We have so many fond memories of Jack and Jenny's family reunions at the Plymouth Park. They
were so generous with their time and efforts to keep the families as close together as possible. They
always made us all feel so welcome. Jack always made us laugh with a joke or his special way of
teasing. There never was a dull moment when Jack was around! Whenever we run into someone from Plymouth we always ask if they know the Greenlees. Their reaction is always a smile and a
story about how great their family is. We are proud to be part of that family. They were so good
to Bill and Lunetta, coming to have dinner out at their favorite fish restaurant in Syracuse once a month for many years. We love Jenny and her family and wish her strength as she starts another
chapter in her life. She was a good wife to Jack and he loved her for it. God bless her and all of the family. Love, Cousins Kari and Phil Metcalf

Jenny and Family:
Our hearts reach out in love to you at this very special and tender time. Jack was a special gift from God to all who knew him. He was a genuine encourager. No matter who you were - he let you know you were appreciated. His encouraging voice will be missed. His ready upbeat greeting was to be looked forward too. He encouraged me as a young pastor, as a middle age pastor and as an older pastor. His friendship was unswearving. He is missed already.
Janet joins me in sending you our love and prayers. May God be with you until that day of reunion in our Fathers house. Our faith is that God lets us live in our bodies as long as he can but when we can live here no longer he gives us a way to live forever.

To the entire Greenlee family, We will always remember Jack's community and business involvement and what he meant to Plymouth. Jack once told us that he wanted to be known as the "Tree" mayor, because of his commitment to the "Fall Tree Planting Program". We were proud to be connected with it, and to work with Jack. We know he had a love for trees, and how it beautified the city. We can look around Plymouth and see so many of the "younger" trees he was responsible for, and as we watch them grow older, we can remember Jack. Thanks for the memories, The staff of Price Nurseries

Jack was one of Plymouth's true icons. He was everything to that community and a great ambassador of good will and family values. Our families grew up together and Jack always showed a genuine interest in what I was doing in life. It was just a couple months ago I was visiting my mother and we attended church. When the service was over and I was leaving there was Jack sitting in the back waving for me to come over and talk. And true to Jack's nature he wanted to know how I was doing and asked about the kids. I knew he wasn't doing well but he never let on and kept that big smile on his face that I have known so well through the years. To Jenny, Jill, Janice, Julie and my good buddy Jamie my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know my dad has another bridge partner now. Take care. Jim Tharp

to Jack's Family, and what a Great Family!
Jack will always live in our memories, long ago working for Jack bagging groceries at G&G, learning quickly how to treat the customer, with a smile. Then years later when Jack and Jenny heard I was going to Europe and that I had to look up Catherine Roland, in France, and her family taking me in only because of Jack and Jenny's recommendation. the ripple effect that Jack and Jenny had in my life years ago still lives on, as I know it does in everyone who had the fortune to cross paths with Jack and the Greenlee family.

Jenny, Jill and the rest of Greenlee Family,

It was with great sadness yet relief when I heard of Jack's passing. I know he has suffered off and on for a very long time. I remember so fondly of his humor (though sometime we didn't all get it) and the times I spent at your house Jill and we rode that bicycle built for two around town. I know we haven't always keep in touch but when I came to town I usually saw you when I visited Dad before he moved and having the "Coffee clutch" at Martin's on Sunday after early church with the "older group" that got together.

He will be so missed by everyone and it is with great pride that I say "I knew Jack Greenlee." He was a wonderful, Godly man. May his examples that he left everywhere in Plymouth be a reminder to his children and grandchildren the legacy he left for you all to follow for future generations. Bless you all in this time of grief and celebration of his life. Jenny and Jill he was like a Dad to me growing up and I shall miss him so but I know he is giving Mom an earful about Dad and some of the things they have done since her passing!!

My wife and I first met Jack in the early 70"s when we first moved to Plymouth and shopped at G&G. We really knew nothing about Jack at this time. Later, after putting an ad in the Plymouth Pilot I gathered 15 youngsters of all ages to learn soccer. As we needed a field to play I approached the Park Board, the High School and the Mayor but was politely refused. About this time while Jack was packing our groceries I was telling him about our soccer problems. He listened and said that he would get back to me. A week later he said to go ahead with our plans as he had got us a field at the back of the park. Soccer was a huge success from then on in Plymouth as hundreds of youngsters can testify. It goes to show that Jack really was the go to guy in the town. Thank you Jack, you will be missed.

To Sue & Larry as well as the entire Greenlee family,

I was very saddened to learn of Jack's passing. Even though it has been many years since I lived in Plymouth and had any interaction with Jack, I knew he continued to be a major city leader and was well-loved by the community. I can still envision the smile he always had on his face and the kind words he always seemed to have for everyone he met. What a wonderful legacy he has left for his dear family and though we on earth mourn his loss, joining his Heavenly Father is truly his gain!

Condolences and great sympathy to your family from the (Kenneth) Sandra Ludwig family of Plymouth, IN. Jack was a great friend of our family in hard times and good times as well. A very stand up man, and we will greatly miss him. When our family fell on hard times and needed food after a layoff, Jack came through when he worked at G&G and allowed us to pay on time until we could get back on our feet. When Ken was ill, Jack made sure he got the medical attention he needed and helped him keep his job until he could get well and return full force. Thank you for all your good deeds to our family and beyond. God bless and keep you, Jack. Tell Ken hello for us...
