Helen was the nurse-in-charge when my father suffered his epic heart attack at Plymouth Country Club 50 years ago this year. I'll never forget her caring and professionalism then. And I was so glad to reconnect with her a few years ago at church. She touched so many lives. Mine included.

Chris and family, your mother Helen was such a special lady. Growing up on Dickson street we all knew each others families, and your parents were dearly loved. My mother (Nellie VanGilder) always spoke so highly of Helen as the best OB nurse ever, said she was there for the birth of all her girls. She continued to remain in conact with her as a clerk at Hallmark store, and your mom would visit often. When we worked together she always would tell me.."Be sure to tell Chris to give his mom a hug and kiss from Nellie". Now they are both in heaven and I am sure Nellie is hugging on her now, saying "What took you so long to get here?" We can be comforted to know they are both in peace and no longer hurting. Next month will be a year that mom passed, so I know what you are facing, glad you have your family and friends near. Wishing you peace and sending hugs. Love to you all .....John & Linda Sweany

Aunt Helen your kind and gentle manner will forever be remembered. You loved and served and were an angel to many on this earth, rest well in heaven you will be missed greatly.
