What do I say? I am so sad as I know you are as well. Try to remember the good times. My memories will be, Norm coming to my rescue so many times. The night there was a GIANT slug on my deck. Of course I called Norm. He came and killed it. Eileen made him clean it up:-) And, then there was the time I sprayed vinager on the weeds..because I read some where that vinager killed weeds. I was so proud of myself I had to tell Norm. He and Eileen just laughed and laughed....I guess Norm sprayed weed killer on them too:-) Last yr when I was so sick they paid to have my lawn mowed. They were not just neighbors, they are very dear friends! When my parents passed away Eileen was the first one at my door. And now, I am so far away and can't be there for her. But, you will all be in my thoughts and prayers always. I know Norm can see perfectly, can hear perfectly and is walking again on his daily walks...only this time he is walking with God!
My love goes out to each of you! And, to Norm, rest in peace my friend!

I remember Norm bringing fish to my mom and dad- many times. He was very generous. I will remember you all in my prayers as you say goodbye.

My Sympathy to Norms family, he was a fine person and will be missed by all who was lucky enough to have known him. He was also a great basketball player, I was lucky enough to have played with him in Independent basketball.

We are so very sorry to read of the passing of Norm. He was respected in the Tyner community for his many activities. I especially remember how he liked to play cards for so many years, with the members evolving over time. And so many of the guys enjoyed fishing with Norm. Our prayers are with you at this time.

William Killian, Tucson, AZ - Below is part of the poem I wrote about Norm when I heard of his death:
It was Norm Klinedinst/ who wooed me into basketball hysteria./ As a kid, I couldn't wait for the Tyner games -/ oh yes, there was a Moore, a Sarber/ then a Joe, Keith, Dick, Larry, Lynn, Dave.../ I could go on, but it was Norm Klinedinst/ who was my hero./
They tell me he has died -/ not in my mind./ There is a basketball in my truck right now/ that helped me make 260 free throws in a row/ as I whispered 'Norm, thank you, Norm thank you'/ 'thank you for the love of the game'./ I still shoot today/ and help the kids at the Y -/ why not, I'm only seventy-five./ My grief tonight is filled with gratitude -/ I'm so glad I went to Norm & Eileen's table/ at my last THS Alumni Banquet and said,/ 'Norm Klinedinst, you are my hero.'/
Rest well, good soul./ Bill Killian, the Free Throw Doc, Tucson (Tyner grad, 1957)

What a sad time--I played basketball with Norm when he was a senior and I a sophomore--he was the most coordinated person I have ever known. I remember one time he had jumped in the air to pass me the ball and I got covered up. well Norm already had his arm cocked saw me covered and just shot it--and guess what it went in--.
I always had the highest respect for Norm--may he rest in heavenly peace
