My Aunt Jeanie - I saw her on the day she died (approximately 5 hours earlier, although we didn't know it at the time) and she was still smiling! My mom read to her all the cards from friends and loved ones and she nodded and smiled at each one. She will be missed. Heaven's gain is this world's loss. We weren't ready yet. But only God knows the end of the Book.

Friends at Roberts Park UMC heard of the sad news this last Sunday and many spoke to me with love and affection about Jean and her work. We remember her and the family at this time and pray that all may find that 'peace which passes all our understanding.' With every blessing from all at Roberts Park.

Jean is the first of my wonderful aunts to die. I never called her Aunt Jeanie because she told me not to. I think it was because it made her feel old. I always remember us being such a young family. When I first heard the news, I don?t think I really believed it. Even though I knew she was sick, my mind kept me from focusing on that. I will always remember her as a young, pretty, independent, hardworking girl (woman). Over all the years, from her twenties to now, she would always look me in the eyes and give me a big smile. I must say when I was a kid this made me nervous. I thought, ?What the hell is wrong with her?. Over the years as I matured, I came to see she liked me, and actually loved me. I don't recall her saying an angry word or negative thing to me. So Long Jean.

We were very sad to hear of Jean's passing. She was a person who always was interested in what you were doing and always had a loving way about her. She was a great asset while she was involved with the Shalom Daycare Ministry at Roberts Park UMC in Indianapolis. We were all very sad when she and Ron moved back to Plymouth, but happy for her and Ron because she could be near those she loved. Please accept our condolences and know that there are many here in Indianapolis that will be praying for your family, and especially for Ron. Peace and grace to you.

To Jeannie's family,
I met Jean in grade school. She was always a inspiring type. In high school she was active, caring, hardworking and smart. I enjoyed seeing and visiting with her at our Thursday (class of 58)lunch meetings. Now she has graduated again.
She will be missed by many.
May God grant you strength and inner peace as you struggle to cope with this great loss.
