Our thoughts and prayers to the family. I could always count on a smile and a little bit of teasing from Mr. Bockman whenever we would see him. I have no doubt he will be looking down from heaven, cheering on his grandchildren at their athletic events.

It is with a heavy heart that I type this out. John was a great man, husband, father, and grandfather. I was fortunate to have known him for some time, but was even more fortunate to have been his next door neighbor for three years. I already missed the front porch chats that we would have, as we moved last year, but I will never forget the smiles and laughs that were shared. He was loved and will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers are with you Glenda, Phil, and the rest of the family.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. I have many fond memories of our youth and remember the graciousness Glenda brought to John's life. The two of you exemplified the treasure that love is. Young people can learn from the example the two of you set, that life is not always easy but it is worth working through together and LOVE is what makes the difference. Now John is experiencing the greatest love of all, the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has worshipped Him through the years and now he is WITH him in Paradise. I pray that the young people he cared so much for follow his example of faith.

God bless you Glenda and your family.

May the thoughts and prayers of others sustain you at this difficult time.

I always looked forward to sitting next to John on Sundays when we ushered at St. Michael's. John was so friendly, had a great sense of humor, and a lot of compassion for others. When my wife was dying with ALS, he constantly told me that he could help my family run errands, etc. After I moved to Fort Wayne two years ago, John was certainly one of the people who I missed most from Marshall County. He was a wonderful friend and a good man.

Phil, my condolences to you and your family. It is so hard to lose a parent but please take comfort in remembering that you spent a lot of time with your father. He always brought a smile to everyone he met and I'm sure he is now bringing those smiles to everyone in heaven.

Dear Glenda,
It was with complete sadness that I read about John's passing. It was only in the last week that the three of us spoke in the grocery, sharing stories of the past. John was a great man and a hard worker. We spent many days on the job together and I have always had the highest respect for him. I wanted you to know how deeply sorry I was to hear of your loss and I send you my most sincere condolences.

As always,

Glenda and family,

It is with much sorrow to hear of the lost of your husband and father, and my friend Johnnie.
I have so many great childhood memories of growing up with John, on the south side of Plymouth, in the late 40's and 1950's, and will always treasure them.

"Eternal rest, grant unto him and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen"

My family and I moved to Plymouth over 40 years ago. Through my job at McCords I met John. He owned a small tool shop that was exactly what I needed for my requirements. I feel very fortunate to know him and become his friend for all these years. We were young then with young children so we followed them through the High School years and beyond. John was a great one for the chat which I enjoyed and it looks like young Phil is following his example Our best wishes and condolences to Glenda and her lovely family.

Glenda,
I was so very sorry to hear of Johns passing, he was a great guy. I had just recently found something that he had given to me when he came in to visit you at the Library. It made me laugh, as he always did. I can still hear him teasing me about that mean rooster, he thought that was so funny. Seeing the two of you together it was very obvious the love you had for each other and your family.
My prayers are with you all.

Wife and family

I don't believe that I know any of your family personally, but I went to school with John.
The first real job I had when I was 13 years old was baling hay. John, on occasion would be
a member of our baling crew - which included Ronnie Johnson, Dick Sickmiller, Bub Lowry
and myself. As I remember, John played football in jr. high school. Later he worked on old
cars with the Plymouth Car Club, which was founded by some high school boys about 1960.

Somewhere toward the end of the high school years, I lost track of John. I guess I went to
college and John went into the military. Most recently, I saw John several times at Plymouth's middle
school sporting events. As a member of our class of 1961 my memories of John are of that
era. I remember him as being a friendly, jovial member of our class.

My condolences to the family on your loss.

Jane, Phil and Mrs. Bockman,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Mr. Bockman. I have so many fond memories of him from the parks, school events, and driving the gray truck around town with the gorilla/monkey sitting in the passenger seat. Did not matter where I was or who he was with he always waved and acknowledged me and my family. I will never forget walking down Michigan street stopping and talking or just saying hi. He was probably one of the nicest people around.
You are all in my prayers.

This is Vern Matthew. I have known John and his wife over 40 years. I JUST found out that John passed away. My eyesight is such that I no longer can read the newspaper...so I am not up to date on things like this. I would like to express my deep sadness at John's passing. John was a very good firend and was a great person. We spent many good times together in the Hooiser Old Wheels. I want to share with his loved ones my sorrow at his passing.

My deepest sympathy to the Bockman family,

When I think of your dad, I always see a smile - a smile when I would see him at St. Michael's when I was back in town or remembering your dad piling the Oakhill Tool and Die softball team into the back of his pickup truck and getting treated to Dairy Queen. He always seemed to be one of the happiest people around.

Thinking of you, Anjela Martin Dew
