Dear Morgan Family,

Sending our deepest sympathies - this is all so sudden, so shocking and so very sad.
What a blessing to have had the "life of the party" bring so many smiles for 58 years.
And what a blessing for him to have such a wonderful family.
Thinking of all of you, praying for peace in your hearts and minds and beautiful memories always...

Sending light,

Rod has been a lifelong friend to me. During our years at Tuttle Jr HS, C'Ville HS, and Indiana State U, we made the most of our good times and fortunes and our close friendship. When I look back at wonderful times and great memories during those years Rod's smile will always be a part of me and my journey through that part of my life and journey. I enjoyed softball games, concerts, monopoly at ISU in the winter without heat, road trips, and many assorted other things that we did together growing up. The "Boys" will all remember you for your leadership and your courage even in difficult circumstances. Lord knows, there were many of these with the risks we took during adolescence, especially.

Life has it's way of reminding us all that our days are so short and our precious moments no different. I will pray for the entire Morgan family and ask that if any of you need me to simply call. May you rest in peace and know your work is done here now, "Bugs". God bless you and your loved ones. My heart goes out to Judy and the children and to Alma!

With gratitude for your life Rod,
Yours Truly,

My thoughts are with the family. The Morgan family has been an important part of my life. I will always remember all the fun times we had. I will remember and I am proud to say that the Rod Sr.and his family invited me to Christmas one year. That year I was lucky enough to give Rod Sr. a gift but he gave me the gift of a "family Christmas" that year. With love in my heart, his memory will be with us for the start of this new year, and beyond.

The Morgan household was my second home growing up. Rick and I are good friends and Alma treated me like a son. I have so many fond memories of my time there. Rod was quite a bit younger, but he could compete with us older guys at about anything. He was a really good athlete and a good leader. I know how much he loved his family and his friends and he will be missed by all. Maybe the Cubs can win this year for him! Tom Shelton

I was shocked and deeply sadden by the news of Rod's passing. I pray that his family and friends will find comfort in the words of the Lord (Psalm 23:1-6) during this difficult time. He was a childhood friend of mine. He was an outstanding athlete, a competitor, a leader, bright, funny, handsome and charmed all who met him. Rod had it all and was a role model to me and others. His infectious smile and positive attitude will be missed but NEVER forgotten. I know that heaven has a new starting QB .................... Rest in peace old friend.

Rod was truly one of kind. He was a great friend, who enjoyed hosting card games in his basement in Crawfordsville, surrounded by posters of Ernie Banks and other Cubs memorabilia. Rod always showed great respect for others and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. I learned a great deal from Rod. He was a three year starter at quarterback on the Crawfordsville High School Athenians team, including our senior year when we went 9-1, with wins over Carmel, Noblesville, Brownsberg, and Lafayette Jefferson. It was arguably the best team in Crawfordsville history. Rod will be missed, but will always live in our hearts and memories. I know his family was always the most important thing to Rod. God bless you all.
