Dear Rita and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Willie's passing. I used to work with him at Shamrock Homes years ago. He was inventive, talented and very funny. He was a person that made work something one looked forward to. He also would share some different kinds of animal meat that he trapped or caught? The world sure could use more Bill Longs.

Brother Bill~Even though we knew this day would come soon, we were not quite prepared. You were deeply loved by your family and friends. Death will never take that from us. You were your own self, marched to your own drummer. We had many differences and many things we were in agreement with, but that never stopped our love for you. As I wrote to you some time ago, as family we are all a very important block in that family building. Your part in our family will never be forgotten, you gave so much from your heart. We will more then miss you Bill, a very important part of our hearts have died. I just hope you realized how much you were loved by all of us. I especially remember how excited you were when you found that old motorcycle for Jon. When you brought that to him as a surprise, you were just beaming! That is how you were and how we will remember you!!!

Dear Rita and family,
My heart and prayers are sent to you and your family in the passing of Bill. He was a wonderful co-worker at Shamrock Homes, even though when I first met him I was scared to death of him, but soon came to find out he had a heart of gold. Bill would bring me sweet rolls to my desk once in awhile along with cheese and sometimes, things that really weren't too appealing! Bill was walking the walk of Jesus while here on this earth whether he knew it or not and he will not be forgotten.

Dear Long Family,
In the land of long ago and far away I grew up with Bill and Cathy. In fact, I just saw Cathy a few weeks ago. Your entire family will be in my thoughts an prayers. I remember him, as is obituary describes him, a man that many should try to emulate. my pass from this world, however, they never pass from our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bill, as we called him back in the day! Unfortunely I had not seen Bill since he left Elkhart in the late sixties, but I always wondered what became of him. He was a good guy back in the day, he also had a friend named rick Gay that was one of Bill good freinds growing up! I am happy to find out that Bill continued on to be a solid person as he was when we were kids, God bless your family in the time of missing him.
