Carol and Family, Larry and I are sorry to read of Merle's passing. He was always so nice. I can remember going to Cleo and Margaret's house in Hamlet( I think) and having such good times with everybody there. I remember the house very well and think it was Hamlet on the corner. You are all in our thoughts.

Carol & Children,

My sincere sympathies to you in the loss of your husband/father.

I used to work with Merle with my then father-in-law Larry Cramer. We were both laborers through the heat and the cold for about an 8 month period.

We really had a lot of fun working together, he called me "Spidey" because he didn't enjoy climbing on the scaffolding too much. I remember enjoying a couple of Indiana basketball games at your house as well during that time.

I will always remember Merle as a good man that loved and was so proud of his family. He did something almost every day that made me smile, and I am very very sorry that he has passed on...

I know that he is in a better place now!

I really thought the world of him and can't imagine how much you must miss him!

He was the best!

Sincerely,

Gary S. Cooke

What a gentle, kind spirit Merle was-I'm sure he got that from his mother. He was such a good son to her and took such great care of her and her needs. Merle always knew me and spoke whenever we saw each other-usually at Kim's. You are in my prayers, Carol, as you say goodbye to Merle.

I send my regrets that I will not be able to attend the funeral or the calling. I do not have a car any more and it would be difficult for me to find a ride. He is with the Lord and my husband George in Heaven.
