For the last 47-48 years, I have known this family and Jo was always so proud of those members. She was a gracious hostess , always with a smile, an avid shopper, and a devoted and devout Christian woman. She especially cared about the "little ones" and we discussed this at length.
I always wanted to hit that golf ball as long as she did. I told her that her height helped!
You will miss her immeasurably, but the joy and happiness that she helped to provide for each of you will help to sustain you in this time of loss. Her love will always be there.
God Bless! |

Just after hearing of JoAnn's passing, I was talking with a young lady who lost her mother a couple of years ago. She was telling me with a bright smile on her face how much fun she has had this summer with all of the activities she has been able to participate in as part of the Boys & Girls Club summer program. Made me smile inside as I thought of JoAnn and the Isban family. What a legacy she and the family have left for young children and our community. |

I was so sorry to see this is the Tribune. I have wonderful memories of times
spent with the Isban family when I was still a member of the crew. So many holiday
get togethers with Uncle Len, Aunt Joan, Uncle Norbie, Aunt Helen, Uncle Rich and
Aunt Loretta. I wish I had not lost touch with you all. My prayers will be with the whole family. |

To all of the Isban Family,
JoAnn was a special lady. She belonged to generation of women that worked hard for the things they believed in. It was always clear that JoAnn believed in her husband Leonard, her children and their spouses, their families and her community. JoAnne noticed the beauty in people and in the little things that made life more livable. When JoAnne was with us, it was a pleasure to be in her company.
May JoAnn rest in peace.
May the Isban Family be strengthened by the memories of her love and carry on knowing how proud she was of each of them.

JoAnn and Leonard are two of the sweetest and kindest people that I have ever met. I remember them well from my days at St. Michael's School. JoAnn and Leonard did a lot of good for the children and teachers there. They have done a lot to see that the children of Plymouth are safe and cared for. They are jumble and loving people and I will always be grateful for all that they did when I was there. I remember when I was talking to JoAnn in the kitchen and one of my children opened up and told Leonard something in their kitchen. They both have that loving touch with kids that makes them feel safe. I was grateful for any time that our family got with them. I know that JoAnn is with God and that she is a happy woman. I will, however, pray for the family that is now missing one of the best gals that God ever made. You will all be in my prayers... Catherine M. Kuhmichel |

Leonard, Mike and Deb, Paul and Jess and the entire Isban family. I am so sorry to hear of JoAnn's passing. Seems as though it was only yesterday when I first met her and it has been more than 20 years now. She was a kind and sweet person who always had a smile for everyone. I know how difficult this is for the entire family as you are one of closest families I know. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jeff Spicer |

Hi Jessie and Family,
This is from old friends from St. John's. I still remember how your mom would bake us Crescent Rolls after Mass when we showed up to sing in the choir and I can't quite remember if she let me play on your piano "On the street where you live" or she did, never the less, everytime I hear that song I think about good ole St. John's Way! Chuck and I send our sympathy to all of you. You are in our thought and prayers.

My mom always said, "Mary, watch how Mrs. Isban carries herself. She is elegant, poised, and yet strong." Having my older brothers made me unladylike at times and she would always refer me to watch Mrs. Isban. My mom and dad loved the Isbans. Because of their love for them, all of us kids loved them, too. They were classy people with great senses of humor. Mr. Isban had one of the greatest laughs I remember. Mrs. Isban was just one of the most beautiful women (inside and out) I have ever known.
Isban kids and extended family...I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you all. |

Leonard:
We were away at the time of JoAnn's passing. We were truly sorry to read of the event. Thanks to her, as well as you for much support to the Plymouth Community, especially in the start of the Boys and Girls Club. This is a tremendous asset to the Plymouth area.
My specific memories of her are in regard to the piano. She had the mind for playing, however her finger muscles struggled to do what her mind was telling them to do. She was a beautiful person inside and outside. I appreciate the opportunity to have worked with her. May she rest in peace! |
