My condolences to one of the best voices on radio. I was sorry to hear that Dick was suffering the last months of his life and am aware of the stress and strain this puts on family members as well. I enjoyed working with Dick and always appreciated his wit and humor. My prayers are with the family at this most difficult time and I pray that Dick has found himself in the presence of our Creator in the Kingdom Of Paradise, where there is no pain or suffering.

Life will not be the same without Dick. In the early days of doing sports with Dick, he taught me so
much. I enjoyed working with him everyday. You never knew what he would say, but it was always
entertaining. He was a very talented man....I always thought he didn't realize how talented he was.
When I think of Dick, I always smile.

I am so sorry for all of the family. I know it has been a very trying time for all of you. You have been
blessed with a very unique individual in your family. One that all of us will remember with great
joy. Let the love of God wrap you up like a warm blanket and help you get through this time of
grief. Jack and I will be thinking of you and praying for a special peace that only God can give.

Kathy and family,
I didn't know Richard until he came to work at Wal-Mart. What an amazing man he was and so funny. He always stopped by the photo lab and chatted....he was usually waiting for the bathrooms to clear out:-) I so enjoyed our chats. He talked alot about Kathy and Bella and the rest of his Grand kids. But that is what Grandpas do he would tell me:-) He hardly ever talked about himself except after he got ill. He was very open about his illness in the beginning and very optimistic. Then I came in to work one day and watched him working out on the lot. He was so stubborn....he would push some carts then sit down looking like he was going to pass out. I sat in my car and cried.
So determined, strong and such a hard worker and such a sweet man. I hated seeing what was happening to him. I went up and sat on the bench with him. His words to me were "Jeanie, aren't these supposed to be our golden years"? I told him to go home and take a nap and told him he should maybe think about just working 4 hour days for awhile. Well, he did just that..however he chose to work 10-2 so he could pull his share and at least cover everyones lunch hour. So afraid of not doing his share.
I only knew such a small part of him for a short period of time but the respect I had for him grew every time I saw him. 'Richard', you are missed!!
I am so saddened for his beautiful family. Please hold those wonderful memories close to your heart and he will always be there with you! I am so grateful to have known such a small part of him:-)

Hello,

I was sorry to hear about Dick's passing. He and I graduated in the same class from Warsaw High School. Ironically, we started our broadcasting careers about the same time at WRSW in Warsaw. I was the mid-day host and he was on in the afternoons. He taught me a lot and, in particular, a love of the business. I guess that's why I am still in it today ... My wife Sue and I own WROI in Rochester and have for 20 years.
Dick was a consumate broadcaster, whether hosting a show or announcing a sporting event. He was also a great guy and will be greatly missed.
Our sympathies to the family.

Kathy,
As former classmates of Dick's, Lowell and I were always blessed by his physical presence as well as his vocal presence. I remember his incessant teasing when he sat just behind me in class, and his booming voice. He will be missed, but we plan on seeing him again in another presence, with that of our Creator, where there will be no more pain and suffering.
Love to you and all your family,
