Dear Family,
I was sorry to hear of you dad's passing. I spoke with Sue last evening and she can vouch that I am not 'sounding" too healthy. I am in the larygitis state of that darn cold that's going around. I think it best I not come north and possibly make myself worse and pass on the bug to you.
I have e-mailed or called one family member of all your aunts and uncles on the Walker/Gootee side.
I'm afraid to say that we're all getting older much too fast.
Alice and Dwayne gave us such a morvelous example ot living a loving life. As our families have scattered all over, we still loolk back to those happier times around Montgomery. We always had a great time at Aunt Cecelia & Uncle Earls house. May those and the many memories you share warm your heart during this time of grief. We will all be praying with you on Monday morning and beyond. Love - Cuzzin Carolyn |

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I was very fortunate to have met Mr Martin last year when my own father passed. As it was then, there are never any words to make such losses better.
I wish I could be there with you, but we are just too far away Please know that our thought are with you.

i remember charlie on the ball diamond playing for the k of c's, in his nipsco outfit and his super tanned left arm that rested on the door of the nipsco truck he drove. i remember he and alice on the golf course.
i especially remember the help he gave us building the cabin in the woods...the poles he set and the electric he ran so we had lights. we had a lot of fun there.
i am very sorry for your loss!

Dear Dick, Chuck, Miss, Cliff, Sue, Bill and families,
I was 16 when I met Charlie and Alice, over the years as Shannda was growing up, Alice would call and ask me to stop out with the children to see the latest batch of baby ducks, kittens, puppies, etc. and we would load up and stop out to visit, if Charlie was in his chair or outside, he would always stop what he was doing and we would end up at the kitchen table visiting, I can see his smile as he would make a funny comment, which he always would:) Alice came to my Mother's visitation, I can still see her walking towards me with tears in her eyes, she was a tiny gal, but had big hugs:) small but mighty Shannda would say and that is so right. As you bury your Dad today, I hope you all find peace in his passing and can join around that kitchen table (which I'm sure is too small for you all:) and share some good, funny memories..I know they are there, Sincerely, Carol Sue
