Our family is so sorry to hear about Dr. Bardwell's passing. She had been our daughters' doctor and friend since she arrived in Plymouth. We will miss her dearly. She gave her all to her doctor practice and was a caring and understanding doctor which is hard to find sometimes in this field. We are praying for you and your sons. We know that Susan is in a better place with no pain or suffering. Once again we will miss her. May God be with you all.

She was the best doctor ever. I liked her the best because she discovered I was allergic to milk and was so awesome. She understood me no matter what.
We are so lucky that Dr. B came to Plymouth and was able to do so much for so many, there will never be another like her. We will miss her . Your family is in our prayers.

I got to talk with my friend Susan last saturday after the farmers market was over. She was in the hospital, but was still able to talk for awhile. I thank god for that oportunity to talk with my friend again. Susan was a special person and a real friend. She always made my day when I saw her at the market. I have never met anyone so down to earth and caring as she was. She will be missed greatly by alot of people whos lifes she has touched. She called me her big teddy bear, And I was fine with that. Dr. Bardwell was a wonderful doctor for all 3 of my kiddos and always made time for her patients. Recently, she had an opportunity to meet my mother during one of her chemo treatments. Dr. Bardwell sat down with my mom to discuss the pros and cons of having a port. Even during a well baby visit, Dr. Bardwell inquired as to how my mom was handling chemo, she offered advice and we shared an emotional conversation. I pray for comfort and peace for her loved ones!

My family moved to Plymouth two years ago and Dr. B was our peditrician. I have never experienced a doctor being so caring and loving. We loved her very much! In the short amount of time we were blessed to have her she always talked about her kids! Not only did I appreciate just how caring she was for my kids I appreciated to hear about her own kids!. I'll forever be greatful for the time she was our caregiver. My heart goes out to her family and my prayers are with you all.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. Dr. Bardwell has been our childrens doctor since all three of them were born! She had always been so sweet and wonderful to them. She made them each feel so special, they loved going to see Dr. B! Our family is praying for yours, she will be greatly missed!

Was so saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. B. She was an absolutely WONDERFUL doctor and person. She would answer my son's question with patience every time we visited with her. She never once ever acted as if we were wasting her time. For her, each patient had her undivided attention, and for that we are eternally grateful. As a person, what can you say, she was the BEST, SWEETEST and MOST CARING person. Sometimes doctors get busy and forget how to be that way, but not Susan, EVER!! We loved her and will miss her so very much. Prayers go out to her family, and to her boys whom she loved so very much and talked about all the time.

Dr. Bardwell was an amazing woman. I truly am going to miss her. Without her my son would NOT be here today. I was a young mother that did not know much about a baby's growth and when I decided to switch doctors, she immediately knew my son's head growth was not normal. She will be missed and I will forever be grateful for her time with my son. So sorry for your loss.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bardwell Family. Dr. Bardwell was wonderful, kind, and one of the best! If she didn't know the answer (which wasn't often), she would find you the answer! She took so much time with her patients and made sure you understood what was going on. We will never forget the love and care she gave our children and we thank her for that! She fought long and hard, it's her time to rest. We are going to miss you Dr. B!

I was so sad to read that Susan had passed. I didn't know her as a Dr., I knew her as a friend that sat in the stands and watched our boys play baseball together. We had many laughs sitting there. I've run into her over the years and always enjoyed talking to her. She was excited to tell me what a great coach Michael is to the boys! We'd also meet at band/orchestra events. Always shared a smile and a laugh. Susan you will be missed! Michael, Ian and Hayden... you have an angel looking down on you now.

All of us at Wagoner's Music Shop are saddened by the news of Susan's passing, and are thinking of the boys, Ian and Hayden. We miss you in our lesson program. Susan gave advice when Bill was going into treatment for his illness. And her father, Larry, offered to drive Bill to his appointments each week. This touched me deeply, as he had just been through this with his beloved daughter, and he barely knew us then. He showed the same caring spirit that Susan did. Michael, I know how hard this is for you, having just gone through it last year. Know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

What an amazing person Dr. B was! Her skills as a doctor were unmatched and her soft heart and fighting spirit will never be forgotten. She became a very special friend when her family moved next door to us 9 years ago. We spent many days watching the kids play together and encouraging each other through the trials and tribulations of parenthood. I will dearly miss her friendship, her kind smile and laughter, and our midnight Twilight movie outings. She fought this battle with dignity and grace and has been a beacon of light in our community for so many years. Be strong Michael, Ian, and Hayden and know that Susan was so proud of all of you. We love you all.

We will forever be indebted to Dr. Bardwell. She took care of our youngest son during a very trying hospitalization, shortly after his birth. My cousin, who is also a pediatrician, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center spoke with Dr. B at length. After their conversation Dr. B handed me the phone and my cousin said to me, "I am confident you are in VERY good hands! Susan Bardwell is a very good doctor and you are very fortunate to have her!" We always knew this! Thank you Dr. Bardwell for your care and service - you will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of great sorrow.

I am not even sure where to start to commemorate the depth of admiration I have for Dr. B. I knew her first as a doctor. She was an amazing pediatrician to my two children, and saw us through some unique medical and developmental experiences. I am positive that my daughter would not be as healthy as she is today without Dr. B's advocacy to get us to the right specialists. We developed a rapport immediately, as our advocacy for children, their health and learning, were so similar. We would discuss education on all fronts. I then had the pleasure of educating Ian as a 6th grade student. I know Susan was very pleased with his school year . . . and I know Ian was happy as well :) . . . which gave me so much honor to know that she was pleased with my abilities, because I respected her so much. And it was also in that capacity that I truly got to know her as a parent. Ian and Hayden, she loved you boys with every ounce of her being. You were always her number one priority, and I can still hear the pride in her voice and see the sparkle in her eye when she would speak of you. I clearly remember her saying of you two, "They are going to make their mark in their own ways. They will change the world." Beloved mother, beloved doctor, beloved friend; you are missed . . . thank you for the mark you have left on the lives of the people of Plymouth. Our children are better because of you.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Dr. B. As I think back to having my first child in 2008, I remember feeling so blessed to have such an amazing pediatrician. The first time I met her I knew she was an amazing woman, and my opinion only grew throughout our encounters at the office. There is nothing like having a doctor that reassures you that you are a good parent and shares personal stories with you about her journey as a parent. My children loved going to see Dr. B...there was just a comfort level there that the kids felt immediately. They could feel her compassion and gentleness. She will be greatly missed by us all, and I can't even imagine what her family is going through at this time. Her boys are so fortunate to have such a wonderful mother, and I am so sorry that their time with her was cut short. Please hang on to the great memories, as I am sure you have made many. I will be thinking of you during this difficult time. Thank you Dr. B. for sharing in our lives and providing such wonderful care to our children. We will miss you!

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Bardwell's passing, yesterday. Dr. Bardwell had a lot of influence on our family. She is the reason why our Son Jordan, now a Sophomore at the University of Kentucky, chose to study medicine. Thanks to her willingness to look deeper into his history and behavior, she made a discovery about him, that changed his life. And, she took the time to mentor him. She always went above and beyond.

...We also knew her through the Plymouth Youth Orchestra, where her son's Ian and later Hayden played music with our daughters Haven and Lauren Ashlyn. Our daughter Haven started playing the violin with the orchestra about a year after it's inception... Ian was already a member. I still have a photo of them after playing at their teacher Jody's wedding, little 9 and 10 year old kids, with smiles on their faces, dressed in purple and yellow. If it were not for Dr. B., I doubt seriously that the PCYO would have continued past it's early years, when no one knew or cared about the program.

...Dr. Bardwell was always easy to talk to. She helped our children through everything from bullying at school to healthy vegetarianism. As a doctor, she was kind of awesome.

..But, the thing I loved about her most, was how she always took the time to talk. How genuine and forthright she was about anything and everything. And because of her character, how much we trusted her. We thought of her as our friend.

God bless Dr. Bardwell, and her family. She will be missed.

Our family is so sorry to hear about Susan's passing. Although it has been many years, I still remember our times together when I was guest in Susan's family and how nice Susan always was.

I had my son Eric in May 2005 and Dr. Bardwell has been there ever since! He loved Dr. B and thought she was a great Dr as did I!!! She was an amazing Dr. and I knew she really cared about my son! I wish we could of known her on the outside of work but I know my son thought of her as a friend too not just his Dr! She will be greatly missed by our family! We love you Dr. B!!!!

It hard to put into words what a wonderful person Dr. B was! She was not only a physician to us but a friend. Whenever something would go wrong my boys would always say call Dr. B she will know what to do. =) I gained so much wisdom from her as a mother and a woman. We would discuss our children and she would glow when she spoke of Ian and Hayden. She gifted us all with her many many talents. Our prayers go out to her family. I also gotten to know her also in the chemo room where we did are chemo together with others to. I will miss seeing her dad a her beautiful smile my next chemo treatment.The heavens recived a wonderfu doctor and angle...

Larry, Barb, Lisa, Michael and family, It with great sadness but fond memories that I write this condolence message. I have so many memories that there is room to write them all. I remember her as a child and then as one of our baby sitters, I remember the joy in baking she and Michael's wedding cake.

Our deepest condolences to the family, friends & coworkers of Dr. Bardwell. She was such an amazing asset to our community. I truly appreciated everything she did for our family. She taught me to be confident as a new mother, and more recently, approached more awkward subjects with my growing daughters in such an easy manner. I enjoyed her telling us about her boys, or how her husband would sometimes surprise her with a new dish to tempt her appetite. I loved the look in her eyes when she would talk about her dad going to appointments with her. It truly meant the world to her, it was palpable. She will be missed...

I was truly shocked when I got the news this weekend. I knew her for 7 years, she was my son's doctor. I never met someone with so much compassion and dedication to her patients, her "family" at the office.
She did so much for my son from the time she met him even after we moved out of state. Joel was heart broke when he heard the news.
Our hearts go out to her family, Let them have peace oh Lord, for the journey is now over and she is home with you and at rest. Let those around them comfort them and love them as she loved those around her.
We will pray for peace and comfort and we are truly sorry for Dr Bardwell will be truly missed forever.
