There are almost too many memories to share.... I really apprecited the way Mavis and mom took care of each other after they were alone. That probably kept them both going, as well as all the walking they did picking up cans. My memories of Mavis go back to sunday school with her and Donnie teaching. She was an achor for the Tyner UMC and will be greatly missed. Rest assured she stands tall with the saints who have gone before her. I will pray for you and your families as you say goodbye to your mom.

I am a co-worker of Mavis' granddaughter, Deanna, who has spoken so often and highly of her grandmother. It seems she was a wonderful woman who was loved by many people. Our thoughts are with Deanna and all of her family during this time.

Please know that my husband and I are deeply saddened by the passing of your Mother and our friend. Mavis was an inspiration to us at DeSoto Park in Sebring. She lived the life a good neighbor should display. She not only lived peacefully among her neighbors, she was full of high spirits and vitality. Those qualities inspired us.

Thank you for sharing her.

My sincere sympathy goes out to you all, but I am sure you will rejoice in the great memories you have, as we did for my Mom. They had such good times together, and I am sure they are now greeting each other and their many friends from church and lodge that had gone before them. I have such good memories of all the times Mavis helped me when I would go to the school office during the many years. She never failed to be pleasant, courteous, and kind, even the time I had to sit outside in the hall, and finish a test, when she offered words of encouragement. She really made a difference in many ways for many people.

My prayers join the many others for all of your family. Mavis was a very important and instrumental part of my growing-up years because we lived so close to Mavis and the Reids. Each time I had an opportunity to visit on trips back to Indiana, her attitude and vitality continued to inspire me. Jana Lee Coplen Pollock (Tyner class of 1954)

My prayers and sincere sympathy goes out to all of Mavis' Family and Friends, a true loss of one of my best friends. The companionship we shared was next to none during our trips from DeSoto Park to Lake Worth and many other journeys. Mavis and I shared good and bad times. We knew we had each other to depend on. I will value all the memories and inspiration Mavis gave to me and others. My thoughts are with all her Family and Friends she touched.

Sorry for the loss of your mother Mavis. She was such a neat lady and a friend to everyone. I only known her for a few years and she was such a joy, whether it be at our breakfast at Christos on Wednesday or the suppers at the church especially the noodle one. What a trooper, she will really be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all your family.

It is with regret that I learned of Mavis's passing. She was always neatly dressed and organized. Mavis was a pillar, as were a few other women, in the Tyner community. Their spirit and enthusiam were an inspiration to many of us in our own version of "Mayberry". She will be greatly missed. With deepest condolences.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Mavis. The passing of a loved one is with deep sorrow. May we all look forward to the fulfillment of the Bible's prophecy when things like sickness, pain and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:4). My deepest condolences go to the family in this time of sorrow.
