He sold me my first bike. Yes, it was at Christmas. I loved that bike for many years after.

Dear Suter Family,

I am proud to say that I received my first 5 speed Schwinn bike from Art's Bike Shop. I loved that place. He was always there to help fix it when it was broken or give in a tune up. He was a happy and friendly man and he will be missed by many.

My prayers are with all his family members.

I was so sorry to hear of Art's passing. Reading about him brought back so many wonderful memories from when I was a kid. I can remember riding my bike to his shop & he was alway so friendly & helpful. My bike was a hand me down, but I remember saving up my money to buy a new seat cover there. We used to just hang out there sometimes checking out all the cool bike stuff, probably driving him crazy at times, but he always smiled & answered all of our questions. What a wonderful man. He will be missed by more people than you can know.

To Art's family,

My condolences to you all. I will always fondly remember Art pedaling his large three wheel bike/trike down Lake Av. as a teen. I lived near the corner of Lake Av. and Third St. and as a five year old I thought it was very "cool" to have a bike like that...something special. I wanted one too!
He will be very missed by all. May he soar with the angels!

I grew up next to Art for a short time....at the home of Martin Lohm. I want to express my condolences as I am just now reading that Art is gone. He did not let handicap get him down............he did well. God Bless him.

Art was such a terrific guy!! We have a bike we bought from Art many, many years ago...it still works perfectly. Plymouth has lost one of their (our) best citizens . May he rest in peace.

Suter family,

At age 8 I became the proud owner of a Schwin "Apple Crate" from Art's bike shop.My first day out I managed to run in to the fence at the Catholic school playground and received 8 stitches for my efforts. Fastest bike I ever owned!

Thank you for the wonderful memories.
