Herbert E. Harman, 69, of Ferndale Avenue, passed away following an illness in his home on Sunday night, March 2, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born to Jack A. and Helen L. (Lee) Harman, Herbert was born in Plymouth on January 10, 1945. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1963.
Herb served in the United States Air Force from January of 1965 until his Honorable Discharge in October of 1968, and he returned back to Plymouth.
On June 23, 1973, Herb married Annavieve "Ann" R. Talbutt in the Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a lifetime member.
Herb worked at Bomarko for 20 years as a maintenance worker. Afterwards he worked for 10 years at Graphix Unlimited in Bremen until 2009.
Herb enjoyed coin collecting, annual fishing trips to Michigan and also fishing with his children and grandchildren. Another favorite past time was playing cards with his friends and family. Also, spending time with his dog, Bentley. Herb was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars - Marshall County Post 1162.
Herb is survived by his wife, Ann, of Plymouth and their four children: Sallie A. (Mark) Crawford, Samuel A. (Sherri) Maxwell, Shellie A. Duell and Sherrie A. (Richard) McMichael, all of Plymouth. Also surviving is his brother, Terry (Sherry) Harman of Plymouth, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Shannon Crawford.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 7th in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Hospice Chaplain Tom Padberg and grandson Nathan Crawford will officiate.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by members of the Plymouth American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign War- Marshall County Post 1162 and D.A.V. Chapter 42.
