Vincent “Cody” Poczik, 16, of 10765 Muckshaw Road, Plymouth, passed away at 8:54 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012. He was a member of the Plymouth High School Class of 2014.
Cody was born in South Bend, Indiana on December 27, 1995 and is the son of Vincent W. and Lisa J. (Naylor) Poczik of Plymouth. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother; Lacy J., Carly E. and Donny C. his Gram, Jayne E. Aker and his Little PawPaw, Kent T. Naylor both of Plymouth and his Big PawPaw and Nana, Vincent W. and Debra A. Poczik of South Bend.
Maternal great-grandmother Mary E. Aker of Plymouth also survives while his great-grandparents Donald E. Aker, Donald B. and Grace E. Naylor preceded him in death. Paternal great-grandmothers Mary R. Zakrowski and Ima Ruth Poczik also survive. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Vincent A. Poczik and Dick & Betty Malone.
Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends are left with great memories of Cody.
Entering his junior year in high school he was involved in soccer, swimming and pep club. Whatever the season or whatever the sport he loved it. He enjoyed life and spending time with his friends and family. He loved soccer, swim team unity, basketball, football, he ran cross country and track. He was his friend’s biggest cheer-leader. He loved the wolfpack and teamcentipede. He enjoyed snowboarding, hunting, fishing, spearfishing, and diving for lobster. He loved his many pairs of shoes and most recently he loved "poonin" (pontooning) with friends on Lawrence Lake, Reggae music, and time spent in the Bahamas.
A Community Celebration of Life service in union with the Hunter Brandt Family will be held on Monday evening July 2nd at 7 p.m. in the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan St. Plymouth. Services will be led by Pastors Ollie Dongell and Ed Friberg. Seating will begin at 6 p.m. At the church after the ceremony the Poczik family will offer a receiving line.
